Did you check to see if there was a frog trapped in there somewhere?
ОтветитьWhere is this beautiful trail at?
ОтветитьDid Nukeproof Scout felt overall better on riding ?
ОтветитьGot my Stoic last month, loving it so far. It is indeed a bit stiff and I’m still trying to figure it out. Named her Bucky!
ОтветитьHave you ever tried the Trek STASHE 7 ? Sir
ОтветитьI’m thinking of getting the stoic 3 but the only thing stopping me is monies but for the price at $1190 shipped to my door after tax, it’ll be hard to beat. If i didnt have so many expensive hobbies. She’d probably say go for it.
Ответитьyeah really "affordable" even a stoic 2 is hard to get when u live in a country where a job is hard to get
ОтветитьI am looking to buy a canyon stoic but the size chart put me in a small I normally ride a medium I'm 5'10 with a 31 and 1/2 inseam any help would be greatly appreciated thanks awesome video as always
ОтветитьAlso anybody have any thoughts on the Rocky mountain growler versus this bike which one would be better
ОтветитьI couldn't pass up a 2016 Orange p7 RS last year.
ОтветитьI have the exact same Stoic as in the video and he is right about the hand vibrations. I ended up putting a Spank vibrocore bar and it eliminated most of the hand vibrations. Definitely recommend the bars.
Ответитьcareful where you are riding for sure there are rattlers out there
ОтветитьThank you, I was waiting for 3 Years xD. I got the European Stoic 3 (old one) and it was really great. There is just one Problem: I got taller😅😂...
ОтветитьThanks for this review, almost bought one but i hate bikes with lots of vibration.
ОтветитьThe bike is nice. But it sucks compared to the landsacape you´re in ...
Ответить... by the way, these hubs are not "no-name-hubs". The brand is called "DT-SWISS".
At least my Stoic has them on it. What I don´t like on that bike :
- saddle
- grips
And I don´t like that is has not a complete shimano XT configuration.
But I could not afford anything better thatn this for now.
Did you find out what was wrong with the wheel/hub? Sounds like maybe a blown pawl that is bent and making a racket. The mechanic in me needs to know! Thanks for the review!
ОтветитьSalamat po
ОтветитьSo there's a really cheap used one near me so I guess changing the frame would still turn out cheaper than more expensive bikes lol
ОтветитьYou should review a knolly tyaughton, they seem like a sweet hardtail.
ОтветитьThis bike was my first choice when looking for a new HT back in 2021, none to be found!! There were no Ragley's back then either. But CRC emailed me in the middle of the night, they had the mmmbop i wanted, and I got it.Thanks for posting on this bike, i would still like one.
ОтветитьHi Steve, love you videos.
In August the 2023 model Stoic 4 was on sale for 1370 euros. At that price I didn't think twice to order it. I immediately changed the saddle and have recently updated to the 54t ratchet.
Although that most of my riding is done in solo on more mellow trails, I appreciate the potential of the bike, when riding with my friends, all on fullys, or when jumping on the mtb hopper lite ramp.
Maybe it is because i haven't ridden any compliant Hardtail yet or the 2023 build feels truly less stiff.
Anyway, I am still very happy with my purchase, no wonder at that price point.
According to Cade Media, Canyon had sold more bikes than ever but is making less profit then ever.
Looking foward see more great videos from you.
Take care
Couldn't imagine being able to ride trails like that wow
Ответить15 years ago, even my 300 bucks mtb had hubs that never gave me problems...paying 1800 and getting a wheel that makes these kind of noises on the first ride is unacceptable quality control
ОтветитьI am 6'5" and this looks pretty awesome man!!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!! 😎
Ответить6 foot 2. Website says buy a large. What do you think? Does it run big or small?
ОтветитьSTOIC 4 or Commencal Meta HT RACE or Essencial ?
ОтветитьI'm sorry but the panorama stole the show! What an insanely beautiful place, I wish we would have these kind of landscapes in France.
ОтветитьThis video definitely makes me more confident in my decision. I just ordered a Roscoe 8 and the main competitor I was looking at was the Stoic 4. Originally started with a budget of $1500, but there’s some really good sales and these two really stood out as best values right now, as both were on sale for $1600. I’m brand new to mountain biking, and the Roscoe seems like a much better option for starting out on the green and blue trails, and flat terrain we mostly have. I really put off buying a bike for a while just from not understanding the practical difference in different components, geometry, and how they ride. Seems on the Roscoe the main weak point is the fork, which I can accept having to upgrade when my skills develop to a point where it’s noticeable. And with the sale price, that still leaves some room for that upgrade at a reasonable total cost. It should get here this week, excited to get out there and into the hobby. I found your channel and this review after I put my order in, glad to get some confirmation in my choice. Really enjoy your channel since I found it. I’ve also had to adjust to some health issues over the last few years that impacted my ability to do my main hobby for a while, wish you the best with your health as well.
ОтветитьAs a musician I am obsessed with gear. And I know many musicians that are obsessed as well. This man takes it to the next level with these bikes. I don’t even ride but I love some great OCD when I see it. Keep loosing sleep bud!
ОтветитьCrazy to think $1500 is labeled as ‘affordable’ these days.
Ответить“I’m not nitpicking.” Continues to nitpick.
ОтветитьI am 5'7" and spoke with a Canyon online rep who calculated I needed an XS or Small (WTF) for an UCI XCO Esteem CF hardtail. I have zero confidence in buying Canyon bike because of variable sizing. Their online calculator not provide any size suggestions despite providing accurate measurements.
ОтветитьI just bought a Stoic 4 after watching your videos. It was the best value enduro hardtail I could find. Thanks
ОтветитьI have Stoic for three years and I love it. The most crucial is tire choice because the stock Schwalbe ones are definitely not good choice. I am running Continental CrossKings 29x2.6, and these are great for this bike. They give great comfort and grip in conditions the hardtail is usualy used. Hans Dampf and Magic Marry are enduro tires for fullsus bikes and they excel in mud.
ОтветитьDoesn't sound like a bike for me, but You ARE the hardtail reviewer for me Steve. 👍
ОтветитьI own Stoic 4 29 as well as 4 different bikes 26 wheels. I don't enjoy the ride feel and I thought it is because of the wheels and I decided that 29 wheels are not for me. After I red your complains I now think that there's something wrong with the frame geo cause I also feel not stable compared to other bikes
ОтветитьThis Color!
ОтветитьI was heavily considering this and I’m glad I went with the Cannondale HT. Especially since I can bring it back to the shop I purchased it from.
ОтветитьThis bike vs Canondale Habbit ht3?
ОтветитьI apologize if this is a Patreon type question, but how would you stack this up against the Commencal Meta HT? Would you choose it over the Stoic 4?
ОтветитьAfter this review, so glad I went with the Roscoe 9
ОтветитьHow does the yeti arc with 65 degree fork compare?
ОтветитьThanks for your awesome reviews!! Ever tried the fathom? Would really love to know your thoghts about the fathom. Cheers!
ОтветитьWhat do you think about reducing the travel on the fork for steeper head angle or using an angle kit for the same effect?
ОтветитьGreat video, but you repeat the same thing a lot. This makes for a very long video.
ОтветитьHey Steve, have you ever ridden a Soma Juice or do you have any plans to?
ОтветитьReview a 2k bike and rear hub goes out. 😂
I'll stick with my bullet proof '08 Surly Pugsley with 3.8's.
I really like my stoic, but it’s my first real hard tail. My big bike is a canyon torque, and it’s just too much for my local riding.
I will say, my hub does the exact same thing. It used to not free wheel, and would pick my chain off the front ring. I need to get a new hub for it.
I bought one of these and I’ve been researching to find out if all other Hardtails are as bad as the Stoic. It’s such a harsh bike.
