I’ve had some do that and was able to heat it up and pull it out. Worked good on a few then damaged the arrow on one so I quit doing it

That banging them out trick works great. I took a nail that was straight & long for the weight. It fits inside my micro shafts after I cut the head off square. The square end goes against the insert. Better to have more weight than to heat your tip up too much. It has worked on JB Weld & AAE Max Impact. If it works on them it will work on any glue.

Why do you epoxy them in over hot melt glue? Ive had epoxied inserts fly out but have yet to have a hot melt insert fly out.

Change things up to low heat hotmelt. Then you can change your inserts when you please.

Is that in cases where epoxy gets over the end of the insert? There is a hole straight through the insert, wouldn’t the air just escape through the hole where the threads are? Unless epoxy gets over that hole, which really shouldn’t happen. Thanks. Love the content

Nice quick tip there Troy. I have an arrow or two where the outsert is like that with a gap. Could be from the air piston or multiple shots into a target. When I reinsert it I will remember to remove the nock. Thanks again Troy.

Some solution are after mixing the epoxy wait a while an let it get thick instead of slimy. It will have more tac to it. My easton deep six inserts have a hole on both sides so are cant get trapped when inserting. But ive always naturally remove everything from the shaft when gluing. Shit happens tho.

Is use of epoxy to secure inserts a “must do” on high FOC setups to ensure arrow integrity? I have been using cool melt to allow for making adjustments and haven’t had any issues with inserts coming lose but I haven’t sent them through many critters or heavy bone either.

Since you are always looking for penetration, visiting Demolition Ranch would be interesting to see how heavy arrows go through different objects. He is kind of know for penetration testing of objects. How many {insert object here} does it take to stop a .50 cal? He is in the same town.

Hey I was wondering if you have ever considered spray paint or a spray on dry lube for your broadheads after you have sharpened them?

So I bought the Iron will all steal hit insert system 🤑, and like and idiot I stoud them up over night and the inserts slid in deep enough that I couldnt even get my points to start to screw in... well after a week of working with a sottering iron and some unique pulling techniques I got them right, would recommend it though lol

The best results I have ever had/have is with the blue low heat hot melt. I clean the inside shaft with q-tips and 91% alcohol. I wipe the insert down with alcohol too. I very very seldom have a insert come loose. I believe in the last four years I've had two slip a little but not lost. And if you like to align broadheads with vanes just apply only enough heat to loosen the hot melt and rotate as needed. Works perfectly fine.
