Here is a video about seven things to make your cats life better. But let me tell my life story in between each one no thanks Jackson you’re useless.

As far as spreading out my cat's resources goes, I put food and water next to each other because my cat loves to have some food, but he also is a real water drinker. I actually put food and water bowls in my bedroom as well as the kitchen. I can tell that my cat is very happy with the food and water situation. Oh, and I keep his litterbox in a separate room that's not at all near his food and water. As far as his food goes, I feed him both dry food and canned food. He had an issue about 5 years ago causing him to not be able to urinate, so after immediately taking him to an emergency vet hospital I had Royal Canin Urinary formula (dry food) prescribed to him and he has been healthy and happy ever since then. It's very scary when a cat is unable to pee, and they can die from it in just a matter of hours. I'm sure you know about this, Jackson, but I thought I would put it on here to warn any cat owners to take their best furry feline friend to a vet if there is an issue (likely urinary stones) causing them to not be able to pee. :)

My problem is the litter box. I have two boys (Tommy age 10 and Orion age 5) who have to share one box. My wife will not allow one outside of my bathroom (it's in the area that is screened off by my shower curtain- no tub). My toilet is in it, with my wash basin (Tommy likes to sleep in it when it's not winter) and, I have my washer and dryer stacked on the other side of the room. Their food bowls are in front of the sink. I made an opening in the door so they can come and go as they wish from the bedroom where we sleep (my wife has her own room) where their drinking water is, as well as my desk and clothes closet where they like to sit (high up) when they aren't on my desk, bed, or Tommy's bed, my wife's before she realized that no human can sleep in the same room as me. I'm retired and they can go outside whenever they want by letting me know. They share their food bowls. They have their choice of dry cat food, fresh boneless cooked chicken breasts, roast beef, or cooked chicken livers (Orion likes them, Tommy does not) 24/7. I can't expect them to eat on a schedule as I cannot have a regular schedule. I'll be getting bigger bowls for their wet food now that I know that that's important for their quality of life. Neither one of them will eat canned cat food or raw chicken parts (I put it out for the outdoor cats that were born in and around our yard). Anyway, thank you for your videos. They have helped me understand my people and their needs and motives better than I was capable of by myself.

We try giving out cat a variety of food but she just refuses most foods, it's so strange she is the pickiest cat I've known she also hates anything with fish and cheese and is iffy with chicken

(She will also ONLY drink from cups, we tried bowls that are the same hight/width as a large cup, we were struggling one summer as she wasn't drinking she was not drinking her water but was drinking something and we couldnt work out what turned out she was drinking from the kids water cups switching to a cup for her water suddenly she drank plenty! we are a house of autistics and we joke her specifity is just her being another one of us haha)

My cat uses me as her transport around the house by jumping on my back then onto the shoulders any chance she gets

My cats love toy balls the size of ping pong balls (but not ping pong balls--too light). I get them at pet stores. We have constant games of soccer going on. They even let me play. :)

I inherited a neighbors 10 feral. They all feared me, but 1 wmvraced me. He's my bud. The others were jealous, bullied him, and always took his bed.

Whisker stress points were great! We have a mix of shallow dishes and deep bowls for them depending on what we're feeding them, we'll be switching those bowls out

Our cats have always eaten dry food and with the exception of one freak accident passing, all other cats we've had have lived to 12+. However, they also get wet food from time to time, treats, broth, etc. I think it's frankly a little stupid to write off dry food entirely, there's a right and wrong way to do it, but there's a very purist type of attitude in the raw diet community that rubs me wrong. Big difference, too, in feeding your cat Purina Pro vs Meow Mix...

In one of your videos you said DON'T clip claws !!!

I did something stupid in 2015 Pricing the smother with her kittens They're feral I built the shelter And since then there's always a mother with kittens every year It just goes round and round and round and yes I do feed them I screwed myself

My cats are former feral community cats and still have free access 24-7 to outside where there are many community cats. Do you still suggest cutting claws? I know they occasionally get in fights, and are smaller (but fluffier) than the other cats. I feel they need their claws for protection, would you agree or disagree and why? Thank you.

I adopted 2 cats 2 months ago. Now i know why they are so messy eating. Whisker stress. I will get plates. Also I will now disperse the litter boxes/ cat trees throughout the apartment. A HUGE thank you for all the great info.

I have a huge stray I rescued and brought home. I listened to you Jackson, I have 3 litter boxes for her in 3 locations for her to prowl and 4 cat beds.

My one cat will literally bite and scratch the mess outta of me if I try to cut her nails. She has to be taken to the groomer.

What are your thoughts on Feliway? I just started using it as I am in the process of integrating a new cat with my 2.

Back paws fairly easy to file too, front ones= we do one paw a day, one nail each with the interval of 20 min for each nail. Let them sniff the clippers/ scissors and place them near their napping nest, husband tends to play with the clippers and fake cut his, while my big boy watches 😮
Biggest issue we have though is the FURMINATOR treatment.
If your cat is indoors, has huge fur density, you must groom them once every 2 weeks, or once a week during the hot season. Any tips for British Shorthair or Scottish fold, pls?!

My cat who was put down after getting close to 19 and illness used to grab her food out of the bowl with her paw to put on the floor. Then I'd feed her on a plate without knowing why she did this. Thank you for this info! But I had an ant problem in an old building with cracks, so I'm wondering what safe options you have to deal with ants or bugs that are safe for my two living cats? I've tried vinegar, but it only lasts so long.

My cat is 19. Every night before bedtime I set up an obstacle course for him and his siblings. We play for 20 minutes. For his dinner he gets a water based soup of kidney support wet food, egg shells, tea spoon of pumpkin, vitamin powder, anti plague powder, specialised dry food and a splash of olive oil ( cat specific).

One of my cats sits quietly while I trim his nails and tell him how regal he looks, the other I have to use the " straight jacket " a little pouch that I zip her in and pull out one paw at a time. But yes, dogs and cats need those nails trimmed.

Do you still need to regularly clip your cats nails if they go outside? My cat is nearly two and i must admit i havent clipped his claws once. I just kinda assumed when they go out they grind them down naturally?

Regarding litterboxs, what if you live with your family and your cat is confined to your bedroom? Shouldn't 1 litterbox suffice?

#1 Two of our cats have food sensitivity and allergy issues. We have limited options of what they can tolerate but we keep the full selection of those foods to offer as much variety as we can. I think for older cats, this becomes more important.

A lot of what you have to say is really good common sense but as they say “common sense aint all that common“ I was just thinking about the whisker stress issue the other day and thought why not feed your cat on a plate I thought that because I am about to adopt From the breeder and eight month old Maine coon cat a beautiful Red they were going to use her for breeding she’s beautiful, but they decided they have enough reds and I need something too given fixing notice to the max and rice that show up every now and then anywaygreat channel you have. I think I’m going to call you the cat whisperer.

I raised her as an only cat. As long as I recognize she is the only cat, positive reinforcement she is a very happy cat. I got her pet insurance to help with her health. When I am content she is.

Here's another thing: If you just move out your couches and furniture and put a whole cat jungle gym up in each room with food and litter boxes all over they're really going to like that.

DO NOT cut your cats nails unless it's a house cat. If your cat goes outside and is attacked by another cat it won't have sharp claws to fight back if you clip them. Also cats file they're own nails to sharpen them, what scratch posts are for. My cat is 4 and I have never clipped her nails and they are sharp and necessary for her to be safe outside and defend herself against other cats or dogs!!

I bought melamine material football shaped dishes from the grocery store. Works perfectly to put wet food near one end and my very large footed foster kitty can put his foot on the other end to prevent slipping.

Is there any way to just help my cat basically trimming their own claws? By getting like stuff for them to scratch on or something? Its such a scary topic to me.
