Who here loves the outdoors and all that it has to offer? I do! I do! I love to hike and camp and venture out in the world. It gives me a sense of perspective and I love it! I'd be all in the zone until one insect bite takes it all away. It's annoying. While everyone tells me to wear long clothing and use a store-bought insect repellant, I disagree. I want to feel the breeze on my skin and I do not want to patronize chemical-filled products. So, I made my own essential oil insect repellant recipe!

Is 4 drops not a super low dilution rate?? I thought you would use around 14-20 for 10ml. Of coarse only a few drops of clove cause I think it could be skin irritatingand the rest lemon Eucalyptus. But is that too much? The reason why I ask is because when zi first got started with EO's everyone says just apply 1-2 drops of Y.L. Thieves on your feet and rub together, once I got better educated (still have a long way to go) that EO's should always be diluted so you don't develope sensitization etc. So then zi seen a few roll-on recipes both said to put 40 drops per 10ml. well with in about 4 days the bottoms of my feet started to look old-wrinkled & hard and I have always had baby smooth feet, so I stopped using it for a month, feet looked a little better but still not like normal. I decided to try 12 drops, I think that's around 1% dilution maybe closer to 2% but it started doing the same thing. So is that still too much, or does that happen because those are drying oils?

Can I replace the clove with blood orange to make a kid friendly version? How many drops would I need? TIA!
