U.S. suspends intelligence sharing with Ukraine | World News Tonight

The suspension of military aid was not the only way in which the U.S. administration withdrew its support for Ukraine. Earlier on Wednesday, the CIA director broke the news that the U.S. would be suspending its intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

President Donald Trump’s acknowledgment of Ukraine in his congressional address may not have seemed long, but it was substantial – the U.S. President appreciated President Zelenskyy’s message, which expressed his desire for peace and willingness to resume negotiations. After days of tensions following the Washington spat and a suspension of aid and intelligence to Ukraine, could this spell a positive change for Ukraine and the U.S.?

Major changes are on the horizon for Europe’s most powerful economy – Germany. The new chancellor-in-waiting, Friedrich Merz, wants to effectively exempt defense spending from the country’s constitutional fiscal restraints. With elections a little over 10 days ago, this would provide a massive boost to the country’s defense and infrastructure. However, constitutional change is needed, which presents a political hurdle.
