i use to skate in a pair of 250$ retro jordans (that i won in a bet) that are now worth 10k honestly the shoes were not that comfy so id have still skated in them knowing what i know today just to keep my other shoes (a cheap 30$ pair of world industries that were comfy to walk in) nice and long lasting. overpriced plastic and fabric.
