I'm not a Smollett fan by any measure! But I do support truth and this is what I saw with my own eyes. When the incident happened the first thing I did was head to his instagram to see who he was. Also to see who these two men were. I saw one of these men (the younger one leave some "suspiciously" FLIRTY posts aimed at Smollett. One with him topless. It was clear to me back then that he had a crush on Smollett but being Nigerian he peobably wanted to keep it on the hush (it's illegal and deadly there). So I assumed back then that this was a crush gone wrong. Days later both men completely deleted every post there was on their instagram channels. They were actors and personal trainers back then. I heard Smollett used this as a defence in early days...something about a love affair gone wrong. But it seemed he was talked out of it by his attorney. My understanding after that was perhaps this younger man wanted to make it look like MAGA so Smollett wouldn't connect the attack back to him. Apparently on being rejected he comvinced his brother maybe through lies to attack Smollett. But when the Feds got involved their story became that Smollett had paid them to do it, even though Smollett was paying them to train him too? The whole story reeks of lies. And even as an African I don't trust these two men after what I saw. The younger man was definately sweet on Smollett from the posts I saw so why wasn't this mentioned? Why was this covered up too? Why are they now heroes just because they claimed that Smollett paid them to pretend it was MAGA. I know what I saw with my own eyes and what transpired after. So even though I don't like Smollett. I'm one of the few who thinks he really did believe it was MAGA and maybe he was scammed by these men to believe it. They are not innocent and far from heroes in my view.

The Court has their hands tight. Any court would have come up with the same conclusion. There was a confession after a deal was reached, so you can't just take it back because there is public outcry. If anything, Foxx is the one that erred. However, the city can still look civil liability.

When he said they were "just helping out a friend", with what exactly? How in their view, does staging a racially motivated robbery and hate crime help Smollet?
