Cape Byron Lighthouse 360 VR Tour (Australia)

Here's a quick 360 Virtual Tour of the Cape Byron Lighthouse that's only 5 minutes drive from the town Byron Bay in Northern New South Wales, Australia.

This lighthouse may seem short only measuring 22 metres in height but it sits 94 metres above sea level on a rocky cliffside.

In total it's height is actually 116 metres above sea level which helps give it massive 360 degree view of it's surroundings.

It's construction started in 1899 and finished in 1901. Which only took 2 years to complete.

The budget was estimated at 20000 pounds with half going to construction materials and the other half going to the construction workers.

The original lamp source used kerosene but in 1959 it was changed over to electricity.

Now the light travels a distance of 27 nautical miles which is roughly 50km.

Later the Lighthouse become automation in 1959. So the lighthouse keepers clocked out for the very last time.
