I only have a small quibble regarding the unraveling of the Roman Empire. Certainly there are many factors that led to its demise. Some of them were arguably quite physical that the logistical demand of such a large entity exceeded the capacity for control in that time. Even this would be a fragment of the totality that led to the disappearance of the Roman empire.. It might even be argued that the Roman Empire itself was the process of if it’s owned decline it’s just imperial pulse. If you will that was powerful. It grew in size until those same factors changed the system dynamic and it’s trajectory went into reverse.
