Plant during lean times, harvest during boom times. The best time to start a business is during an economic downturn, it gives you time to grow and develop your business so that when the economy swings back you are in a good position to make the most of it. If you start in a good period, by the time you are really up and running, the economy will be back into a down swing.

Hi Jess - you had a video on the app Vela. I Copied my Etsy shop to Shopify using Vela - but I'm a print on demand seller using Printify. So when I copied it - Vela puts all new sku numbers that do not match up with sku in printify. Is there a way to migrate them.

Thanks for this frank discussion, Jess! It’s definitely a tough time for balancing the household budget on even established income, but I like what you say about using the time to learn and practice. I think too that diversifying your income streams, the way you yourself have done for example, also adds financial resilience, so there’s some value there in starting a new business (inexpensively) right now as well. Glad you and Nick have been continuing to manage alright thus far!
