ОтветитьCongrats Robert on such an important video. To Joy and Mr. Joel, it was such an honor to be part of John Milner's headstone restoration. Wow, to help preserve, restore and touch an actual Revolutionary Veterans Headstone is a humbling "Reverence" to the forming of our nation. I can not thank you enough for letting me part of it. Not to mention the fact that I've made new friends along this path. Thanks guys! (Scott)
ОтветитьKnocked it out of the park folks! Well done and how neat
ОтветитьGreat episode!! Joy is like a breath of fresh air!! I love when she’s on. 😊
ОтветитьI have visit some of my rev war ancestors and its neat to know they freed this country
ОтветитьThis may seem like a closing to a story but it's just another chapter in history. Some authors like to connect chapters together. I can't wait to see what will follow.
ОтветитьSuch an interesting history! I love the story about Mr. Chet's dog thinking he's a goat!!😂😂 thanks Robert ❤
ОтветитьAwesome story
ОтветитьThat is a great story and thank you to everyone who contributed to the ending as it is now. Excellent work.
ОтветитьFascinating
ОтветитьHave you checked for a document by this soldier called “Declaration of Service in revolutionary War”? When the federal government allowed for widow’s pension during the 1830’s, many former soldiers recorded their time in service at their county courthouse. I obtained my 4th g-grandfather’s 4 pg declaration at the NC archives in Raleigh. It has a treasure trove of his oral
recitation recorded by the county clerk.
Another great story. So glad the headstone was saved and is now resting for his descendants to be able to visit. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьThe story and history is amazing
ОтветитьThe Fairfax name is extremely famous in Virginia. They even have some interesting stories tied to George Washington. Fairfax County is named after them along with a bunch of other stuff.
ОтветитьThe Daughters of the American Revolution used to keep a registry of patriot sites. I wonder if they have the original gravesite listed somewhere. Wonderful you restored the headstone.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this interesting story and y'all honored him for his service
ОтветитьGreat effort and dedication to Historic Preservation and Restoration. A huge success in research and discovery. A big thank you to Scott for the repair, to Joy sharing John Milner's story, to Joel sharing his memories, to Dan for painting the picture of the locations and changes over time, and to you Robert most of all. Robert your dedication to the telling of history, historic preservation and restoration is admired. For this story alone, it took dedication; research, manual labor, gravestone repair, cemetery clean up, all an unpaid effort. Then filming, editing and hosting and getting the crew together! Outstanding! Enjoyed Robert, and Thank you!!

👍👍❣❣⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So did the logging company steal the cemetery and get rid of the stones, for the lumber? If so can they do anything about it? Cemetery property has no tax so if they did steal it they can address it legally.
ОтветитьInteresting thanks 👏👏
ОтветитьWow how things come around in a circle and everybody else knows everybody we also related to everybody. Done job thank you to everybody that dealt with that thankyou 😊😊
ОтветитьMan I’m getting one of those shirts
ОтветитьGreat job !!!! Fantastic story ❤️
ОтветитьWell done with the detective work on John Milner. I’m thinking he would be happy to have his stone surrounded by his extended family.
ОтветитьI love that someone knew where it was. It's also sad that his grave is missing. Thank you for restoring this wonderful marker for a wonderful man!!
ОтветитьLoved the story.
ОтветитьThis is so fascinating. What a remarkable and interesting story to watch unfold. Great work Robert, Joy, Scott and it's always so good to see Dan. I could listen to Dan tell stories for hours. I hope he's writing books. Thanks for sharing and taking us along. Great work!! God Bless y'all and stay safe.
ОтветитьHow interesting
ОтветитьA drone equipped with lidar would be able to find at least the grave. It’s a possibility.
ОтветитьThe Revoltionary war lasted about 8 yrs, from April of 1775 till Sept of 1783. If he entered at 14 he would have been born in 1760 or 61, then he would have been about 22 at war's end.
ОтветитьAs for pictures the pohotgraphy process wasn't invented until 1830. Sorry Joy probably no photos.
ОтветитьWhat a great story. Respect from start to finish, God Bless you all, integrity is so easy to see in you all. Thanks for such a Great country, Me. John Milner🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏
ОтветитьGoes to show how quickly we are forgotten after death.
ОтветитьWait! I want to hear the story of George Wallace and the hidden gold!
ОтветитьI know it's weird, but have you tried dowsing for the graves?
Ответитьi hope you are able to regain that cementary. And the owner will allow you to clear it and make it right again!
ОтветитьAmazing story 🇺🇸💪
ОтветитьStill looking for Hiram H Gobbler's grave. We know he was buried at Sandy Creek Cemetery in Tyro. close to the old church steps. He was an Holtsburg Guard of the Civil War. He is in a book in the Davidson County library, " Forgotten Hero's" We would appreciate if anyone has a map of his grave.
ОтветитьI enjoyed this so much!
ОтветитьIt still breaks my heart that his resting place is now lost. I hope that someday it can be found.
ОтветитьAwesome vid! Put the flowers down first next time lol kept having to fight my focus
ОтветитьThank you Robert for a wonderful story . Great job ! 🥰
ОтветитьMy grandpa always wore either an old suit coat or a long denim jacket.
ОтветитьWonderful story from beginning to end finding and restoring great American history. Happy for Joy and her family for the resolution. Great job to you Robert, Dan, and Joy!
ОтветитьWatching an episode the other day where you crossed one bridge and the other was blocked off. Would have liked to take a magnet and see what was in the water!
Enjoy all the episodes ! Take care
Check with the County Surveyor. Maybe be some old drawings that show where the old cemetery is.
ОтветитьAnother "Out Of The Park Home Run!" !!!!! Fabulous!!!!
ОтветитьMy great, great, great and so on Grandfather still has his original Revolutionary War headstone. However, it has weathered poorly. In 2014 the DAR placed a new headstone.
ОтветитьYou could probably use some land surveyor documents to relate the nearby road to the old cemetery and then calculate the GPS location, and then use a GPS to find the actual location of the old cemetery. I'd bet a registered Land Surveyor would be able to figure out the GPS location of that old cemetery.
ОтветитьGreat work
