Hello Folks. I m a newbie here. For example, if I get assigned on a sell put that I want to keep, if the strike price is hit, do I still have to wait all the way till expiration date or can I close it earlier?

Hi Henry! You mentioned the earnings are capital gains for the year, but if we use our IRA then the earnings on options premium are also deferred? If we use Roth IRA then the earnings should be kept for 5 years before withdrawing. Happy new year!

Henry: very good material and insightful. I notice though not a mention of when to enter these trades ie selling puts. Which chart settings ie a one day, 20 day, 6 month chart? As I see different time frames on the underlying will show have different positions of the underlying price. So while a 20 day will show the stock price to be near the lower 2 SD line away from the mean, a one day chart may show the stock price to be above the mean stock price and closer to the upper 2 SD line from the mean. This could lead to opposite results either selling CSPs or CCs. Lastly how many active sold put contracts (weekly or monthly) to actively manage on a daily basis? Thanks, bvvanes
