Every now and again, I find myself searching market place for good deals on bikes. I came across this nearly Brand new Specialized HardRock across town for $45. So I went to check it out and I ended up buying it for $35!!
It needed a new rear axle because the one on the rear wheel was broken so I swapped out the broken axle with one form a trash picked bike that I had laying around. Literally a 5 minute fix and the bike was ready to ride again!
The guy that I purchased the bike from told me that he had taken it to a local bike shop and was told that the part and the repair needed to the bike is Not worth it which I thought was a very dishonest thing to do.
Anyways, after a axle was repaired and a nice bath, the bike was later listed on marketplace and sold within 24 hours for $200 which is a $165 dollar profit that I can use to buy and fix other bikes. This is also a great example of how getting into mountain biking doesn’t have to be expensive. If you know what to look for, you can find some amazing deals on used bikes online.
