Let me get this out the way first. Full disclosure; I stay in the Brew City & just got done watching my Bucks put it on Kyrie Irving (with his big bad bag) & the Mavs. Also, a lot of ppl don't know about the love people in my city have for D-Wade; my favorite player ever & without a doubt the 3rd greatest shooting guard ever, PERIOD. Who btw, is far closer to Kobe than most realize & in fact, had he had just one knee that didn't have bone rubbing up against bone from his 5th year until retirement, he'd surely be number 2! I became a fan when he took Marquette to the Final Four which is why ppl from MKE mess with D-Wade.
1st) Jeff Teague should be strung up for blasphemy for trying to compare an all-time GREAT TWO-WAY player like D-Wade to James Harden-who's been so attrocious on D that ppl put together gag-reals (complete with circus music & all) of nothing but clips of Harden brain-farting over-&-over on D because he's so simple he can't think quick enough to decide whether he should switch, fight through, trap, etc... when dealing with a screen! Versus D-Wade, a 6'4 guard who's BLOCKED MORE SHOTS THAN ANY OTHER GUARD IN LEAGUE HISTORY (and probably 90% of small forwards, too) YES THAT'S MORE THAN BOTH MJ & KOBE, WHO WERE AT LEAST 3 INCHES TALLER! (MJ had like 8 or 9 more blocks if we are just talking regular season but when you combine regular season & playoffs D-Wade is King.)
When did people start cheating the game with this mentality that says it's corny to try on D?! When I was 5 years old I'd watch a game and think that the best player was the guy who scored the most because I was a dumb kid! I didn't factor in efficiency let alone defence. Smh...
That brings me to my next point! I'm so sick & tired of this bullshit, shallow narrative about skill & a guy's "bag"! If Giannis isn't skilled, why doesn't every person who's 6'10 by age 18 join the league & get paid?! Why was there an And1 league or other novelties like the Globetrotters? Because I love Joker but if we are talking about the league's best player we need to be talking about 2-way players! Giannis scores more than Joker avgs about 2.5 assists less than Joker but is in the running for DPOY every year so how is Joker the league's best player if he's not even better than 35 year old Brook Lopez on D? Same with D-Wade. How does D mean so little, that you are going to say Harden, who's a joke on D, is better than one of the best Defensive guards ever who can avg 30pts/gm with way better efficiency while dropping 7 assists/gm & snatching 6 boards-oh & btw just happens to be the best shot blocking guard in history?! It's like these guy's are just like I was at 5 years old, when I couldn't understand nuance & all I could do is look at a box score and point out who looked the "coolest" during the game! Grow up.

i still dont get why playoff performance and defense is never taken into consideration when comparing harden with wade. mike said it best, impact matters too. wade rose up and performed even better in the playoffs. harden dont know about clutch steals, clutch blocks late in the 4th qtr of a playoff game when its win or go home. harden might have like one or two of those plays in the postseason. you dont see harden with moments in the playoffs like the "purple shirt man" game in charlotte. harden is obviously all time great but he aint a killer and that is one of the additional factors that give wade the edge. wade was beating lebron 1 on 1 in practice and some of yall think harden would win in 1 on 1 against wade. harden dont play no damn defense. wade is cut from the same cloth as kobe when it comes to being competitive. they would do whatever it took to win, on both sides of the floor. hardens offensive skills dont get to overcompensate for his weaknesses in this argument. why do most of us consider MJ the goat? he was arguably the best 2 way player ever, the most clutch, and the rings. wades got harden beat in all 3 categories.
