Best deal I got was a huge bundle of board games for £30 from marketplace (and of course flipped em and made my money back instantly haha) but generally never have much luck on marketplace =)

So am I getting theis correct. A guy bought the whole lot for £10 then started listening individually on marketplace? The same platform he bought them from!

The reason there is no decent Marketplace deals anymore is because 80% of the items being sold are by resellers who try to sell without paying fees or taxes. It has steadily gotten really bad on there the past 2 years but probably since Covid hit to be honest. Ebay now reporting is forcing all those resellers who try to avoid paying taxes for what they sell on to places like Marketplace/Gumtree etc, even now at the Carboots there is at least 5 or so resellers who are constantly there trying to sell their stuff for max value.
Personally I hate those trying to avoid paying taxes but if places like FB are going to allow it then it will only continue to be that way. Nice pick ups, there is always those 15-20% of sellers who are genuinely trying to move their stuff on still at a reasonable price for all.

Someone got a bargain for £25 on the football if other are £100+, even if they have a COA that’s a big difference! Yet still a good profit and a good item for a fan/collector!

Should have offered the original seller £50 she probably would have accepted? Instead you line a resellers pockets?

Sigh! That never happens to me, and I am at the point I am reselling to provide for the family now. Getting tired of this game now tbh.

That’s a good deal for you, but I can guarantee the initial buyer won’t be declaring that profit to HMRC! 😂 No one legitimate chooses marketplace as their primary reselling platform! Anyway, enough whinging, I’d have bought all those Thomas toys too, just to see how they perform. I’ve dismissed plastic tractors and the like but I need to be more careful now I’ve seen those can do well. 👍🏼
