Love the 2022 update, also checkkk out the title graphics 👏🏾
ОтветитьWhat do you think about holding vsp and xqq in the same tfsa? My major holding is vsp but added xqq for more tech focused.
Ответить💡💡💡
on the hedged topic , you should do a video on CDR's, or Canadian Depositary Receipts, represent shares of global companies but are traded in Canadian dollars on a Canadian stock exchange. 👍
I didn't notice any difference by you using the prompter. I think it's better this way so you don't have to memorize and recall. Rather have information thought out before hand and displayed for reading. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьHi Bassem, you didn't mention reinvested capital gains for CAD hedged ETFs like XSP in non registered accounts. They result in 80% more phantom capital gains which you never receive. They only lower your average cost basis.
ОтветитьAnother great video!
ОтветитьI didn't notice the teleprompter at all. Excellent information, just what I need!!
ОтветитьAdd a table AT the END or a link whit the summary
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks. Didn't notice any difference concerning the prompter.
Looking forward to your video concerning Canadian ETFs!
The video was good.
ОтветитьHave you attended Berkshire share holder meetings before? And What about buying BRK shares? I am thinking to buy one haha
ОтветитьGreat job, explaining it very well and straight to the point 👏. I remember I watched your original video on this topic before but this is shorter and direct (better version). Keep it up
ОтветитьVFV has out performed VSP by 112% since they were created.
Ответитьdid not even notice you were reading
ОтветитьGreat video, is it worth converting to U.S dollars for the VOO
ОтветитьMorning Bassem, one question for you! If i invest in my Canadian TFSA Account 10K CAD on VSP, should i be charged ov US WTH 15% TAx over the DIV income which would be generated quarterly? and also if my 10K turn out to 50K after 30 years would be taxed ? sorry for a little dumb question !
ОтветитьHi Bassem, which brokers investment is best here in Canada , I want to open TFSA account to purchase VSP
ОтветитьHi Bassem , looking for your advice I’m 32 I don’t know which one should I go TFSA or RRSP or should I go both ? As you mention invest with RRSP can save WHT but end of the day you still pay 10%tax when you withdraw, I’m still abit of confusing, as I’m beginner and I’m still learning thank you for your time
ОтветитьYou are doing a good job at explaining 👏
ОтветитьWhich online brokerage do you use?
Ответитьgreat job. what do you think ZSP and ZNQ
ОтветитьGreat explanation, Thanks. Are there any similar ETF's that do NOT pay a dividend, just capital growth ?
Ответитьteleprompter was not noticed and you shall make it a part of your videos to save time on edits :)
ОтветитьI didn’t even notice the teleprompter
ОтветитьYou are not the only one to say to invest in VOO in RRSP and not TFSA due to 15% withholding taxes on dividends. But TFSAs are not taxed when withdrawing so the total capital gains buildup in US funds are not taxed, unlike RRSPs, USD will always be better than CAD. Despite the 15% withholding tax, VOO in TFSA is a good idea for the US fund capital gains buildup no?
Ответитьcontent looking clean, im super new to investing so i appreciate your content.
what trading app would you recommend i purchase VOO for my RRSP (as a canadian)? Wealthsimple?
Does the tax only apply on the gains?
ОтветитьAmazing! So informative! 🤩 Thanks a bunch!
ОтветитьI have binged on you videos for the past 3 months .very informative!! Thank you
ОтветитьHello Bassem, I’m investing VSP but wondering how is the management fee charged? Do I pay directly or is it deducted from my tfsa, how does it work?
Thanks in advance!
I have 100,000 CAD I’m interested in investing in some kind of index fund. I’m just beginning to learn about the stock market so it’s a bit over whelming. I am going to take my time to learn as much as possible, and so I’m curious what you might do with these funds. I’m 46 years old tho and I’m looking for something that’ll be good for saving and earning in a shorter time. As opposed to 30 years.
ОтветитьOMG, I feel so dumb!😅 decided to invest in S&P for the first time in my life and I'm completely lost! Do you maybe have a video step-by-step on where to begin and what to do?
i.e. 1)Go to your bank and open such and such account
2) download this or that app to your phone and register there.
3) wire money from the bank account to your app account to purchase S&P500, 😀
Sorry, maybe it is only me who actually needs such steps to be explained but I thought it might be useful for someone like me.
what's your opinion on wealthsimple?
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьVery informative. Thanks!
ОтветитьAwesome video !
ОтветитьI have vfv in my TFSA account. I know usd dollar never be affected by any war, or any catastrophic.
ОтветитьAs of April 3, 2023, 5yr return of VSP = 47.86% while 5yr return of VOO = 57.60%. The 5yr return of the S&P500 is 57.78%. Why is VSP so low? It seems that the fund actually does not track the index. VSP underperforms by about 2% per year, which can be a 7-figure swing in the long run.... something is wrong with this fund.
ОтветитьSo what percentage roughly would I lose if I invested into voo over 40 years through my rbc direct investing. Because I would pay the tax and I would pay the conversion rate from cad to usd. Because when I run a compound intrest calculator of 150$ bi weekly for 40 years at 8% ave annual return that would be 144000 invested with 1.1m total money's at the end of the 40 years. Would it still be close to 1 million after all the fees after 40 years ? Hypothetically if it was an 8% annual return for the next 40 years..
ОтветитьThanks for the vid. I'm trying to get into investing and building my portfolio and learning from the ground up.
ОтветитьHi,
I am a beginner.
I believe TFSA have maximum limit.(around 88k)
How do I invest more than 88k in VFV or VSP using TFSA .
Thank you
Good video - I like the tax advice
ОтветитьWhat platform is the beat? Cause imagine putting $300/mo @8% intrest, and by the time you turn 65 you might have $1.5M but the platform might not be there. Any idea on safely investing into S and P 500?
ОтветитьGood contents thank you ❤❤❤
ОтветитьWhat about the iHorizons product? It uses swap agreements so you can hold on TFSA and avoid withholding tax… and there’s a currency hedged version too!
ОтветитьWow it so amazing
Plz give more details on this topic.
Thanks sir💐
Best video forever
ОтветитьIs there any advantage as a Canadian living in Canada to invest in VUAA?
ОтветитьHi! I am canadian and recently started purchasing VOO into my Non-registered account. Should I switch this to RRSP? I liked the idea of the NR account for the ease of access to my money if ever needed (emergency). Thoughts? Thank you!
ОтветитьI get that buying a US ETF is better than buying a canadian ETF holding US Stocks from a witholding tax perspective in a registered account. However, when i hold a RIF, every monthly withdrawal will be subject to a conversion loss at whatever my institution charges. I am not sure if that will offset the saving from avoiding the witholding tax on dividends.
