ОтветитьMy grangran has had 3 carambola trees on her backyard for as long as I remember.
Will never understand people who cut the acid edges. It's my favorite part.
Yes I love the yellow kind I believe its sweeter
ОтветитьSo how much of these can I eat for day
ОтветитьHeared they are neurotoxic and nephrotoxic.
ОтветитьOh damn!!... I follow you on TikTok. Recognized the voice!. Do you sell the trees? If so, how big & how much? I'd want something that would produce relatively soon. Can drive the 2 hours to pick up.
ОтветитьWow! This is the joy of living in Florida! Your video is so informative. Thank you. I get mine from the Thunderbird swap shop in Ft. Lauderdale. You can find people bringing produce from their back yards. From exotic aloe, aiki, ,kenep , and Mabi bark. You and your son should do some rural Florida videos together. That would be fun to watch for a lot of us urban people. Anyway please do a nice long video on your back yard. It looks so interesting. Btw, is star fruit a citrus?
Ответить$5 here .. could send me a couple…. Kidding. I appreciate your video..😀 thank you
ОтветитьCan you grow this tree in a container/ greenhouse
ОтветитьHi just saw your video after I returned from the local grocery store with a starfruit for the seeds but it didnt taste good and and dont want to put time and effort into a fruit that is not a good tasting one. I would like to get seeds from a sweet variety you menrion I didnt catch the name of it.. I am in central florida, Hernando county. what is the possibility i can buy some seeds to grow sweet star fruit from you or a plant? Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьThe star fruit I had years ago fruited in spring and fall on the gulf coast 9B. The spring fruits were tangy and the fall fruits were sweet. I’m assuming it was from more rain in the summer months or it got more sun in the summer.
ОтветитьCan we grow this in Jacksonville ( north Florida)?
ОтветитьHow long for seed to fruit
ОтветитьGreat video. We had no idea Star Fruit did so well in Mid Florida until one day we were walking out dog and stumbled on a beautiful, majestic tree just burting in fruit. Just bought my wife one for our yard for Mother's Day.
One thing I want to point out is per the FL Extension agency, "Arkins" were the first cultivar brought to FL and they consider them only second to "Kari" in terms of quality and flavor. The main variety in the grocery stores I believe are "Gold Stars".
I loveable of your videos, but I hate the chewing sounds
ОтветитьDo you sell small trees of the sweeter versions?
ОтветитьAnyone here growing starfruit ever seen something resembling “grape pearls” on young fruiting tree?
ОтветитьI'm curious, what variety of starfruit do we often see in the grocery store?
ОтветитьI want to meet you and your forest 😀
ОтветитьSo which variety is most sweet and delicious?
ОтветитьSouth Carolina is $5 and are small
ОтветитьThank God you NEVERRRRRR said exotic fruit in your video .....some lady mentioned that this was an exotic fruit and i was like................... but you have a .great video here.....respectfully represented....... we make salads...salsa....cakes....almost anything with our tree.. over here in the tropics
ОтветитьI pay $5 a fruit in Georgia
ОтветитьHey any chance I can get a cutting or some seeds of the dwarf Hawaiian
ОтветитьHello, I'm fun of nature and love love tropical fruit. À was wondering if you sell seeds? Thank you.
ОтветитьWafi
ОтветитьI have quite the history with these. When I was a kid I was treated to huge deep orange colored Carambola fruits at a local Asian Market. The absolute greatest I have ever had. When I lived in Georgia I remember paying an arm and a leg for yellowish green (tasteless) fruits at Publix lol. But had to get my fill! I also recall my rural Ky elementary school (in like 2008) getting a box of them in and were given to us, something about letting impoverished kids experience something they otherwise wouldnt. Was very cool and we all liked them.
ОтветитьHow can we differentiate between normal star fruit variety and Thai sweet star fruit variety when both variety plant is about 2 feet?
ОтветитьBeautiful garden!! I’m in Wesley Chapel if you ever have cuttings you’d like to give away please let me know! Im new to planting but very into it!!
ОтветитьApparently it reacts with a lot of meds just like grapefruit so im not supposed to have it, but i have a little occasionally
ОтветитьI just ordered a red thailand star fruit tree online. I can't find any info on google about a red colored star fruit. So I was wondering if you have ever seen or heard of them before? In your opinion what is the sweetest variety of star fruit? All the ones I have gotten from the grocery store here in So Cal tasted bland with a mild fragrance.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know of a low-oxalate carambola varietal?
ОтветитьHi Pete, I too live in central Florida. My neighbor gave me a small starfruit tree and its doing great. I did how ever plant it in full sun and it is not shaded from the wind. My bad! I do have a question. Do you buy the starter plant from a nursery or do you start from seed? Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
ОтветитьThanks for the good video but in Uganda Africa we have one type which is not very sweet it has sourness
ОтветитьDo you play Stardew Valley? It’s on mobile
ОтветитьI love this fruit. What is your opinion on carambola having toxins?
ОтветитьBest fruit in summer when thirsty!!!
ОтветитьIts always the runts... 🤤
ОтветитьDo they grow good in shade? I'm north of you.
ОтветитьHi mine name is Susan Aikamn.
I have those in my garden.
Is a sweet fruit😊😊
In my country they have a sweet type, even if you eat it green it still not sour
ОтветитьOne starfruit for $2 is a steal !! I’m in SoCal and I can only find them in my farmers market and they go for $8 a fruit!! I’m definitely buying one of these trees, I’ll become a millionaire selling them here in California 😅
Ответить6 point
ОтветитьMy starfruit tree flowers and set tiny fruits yearly but for some reason it drops all of it. The flowers and the immature fruits. It’s 4 years since I bought it. I have not had any fruit from it. It’s supposed to be a kari variety. What is happening to my tree?
ОтветитьYou can make them fruit several times a year by bending the younger growth branches until you feel a slight crunch and the tree will send hormones that cause flowering. Had huge back to back crops!!
ОтветитьAny idea what the mystery tree is?
ОтветитьDo you have a nursery you recommed for getting starfuit trees? Also I have been looking into growning fruit trees and expecially keeping them small. What I have learn and "drawf" tree means accually very little it only means it might be smaller than the original so if the original is 20ft tall your "drawf" could be 18ft without purning so that might be a Draft Hawaiian.
