The technical animations were made for a client who provided the Inventor files and PDF assembling manual.
My job included:
- Transfering the Inventor files in 3DS;
- Preparing the animations based on the PDF files;
- Exporting from 3DS through FBX format to Blender. I've animated the elements in 3DS Max because I'm faster. I had to do some minor tweaks in Blender to correct some export problems regarding the animation of the camera and for some linked elements.
- I've rendered the animations with Eevee renderer included in Blender because it's GPU based and it's a lot faster, about 5-6 seconds per frame on my laptop (I7 with Nvidia 960M).
- I've prepared just basic PBR materials, based on the client requirements.
- The rendering was saved for each frame in PNG format with transparency because I had a few crashes using *.mov format
- I've brought the PNG files in Premiere and I've created sequences.
- I had to prepare the 2d design elements and I've exported them in PNG with transparency, taking into account the resolution I was working on.
- I've made the detailing animations and assembled the entire material
