My 2 cents, as a consumer just don't give in to the BS. Let them new and used car dealers keep their junk, DON'T BE A STUPID CONSUMER.

Give me a break. This whole tariff BS thing is nothing but a hoax to get people to run out and buy these P-O-S overpriced cars. The prices are going up on new cars? Then don't buy it! They're already too damn high. The prices are going up on used cars because of the new car prices increasing? Huh? That's a scam. Get the hell outta here. If the prices go up then don't buy the damn car! No matter if it's new or used...problem solved✌🏽

The depreciation on the Traverse is because of the MSRP increases. It was a great value when I bought my wife's in 2019 and it's been popular ever since the redesign.

Great news for people who want to trade in their cars or sell them !!! Bad news for used car buyers looking to buy a late model car. Their are tons of older cars with high miles and their are still many 2024 leftovers in which one can really get a good deal.

America is going to be like Cuba ….hardly any new cars on the road. The embargo we put on them is coming back to us when no one wants to trade or do business. Govt doesn’t understand USA only has consuming power but no real money or production power.

Any thoughts on how any or all of what was discussed today will affect leases? I have a 22 Wrangler 4xe lease due in August. Can’t really act now (no desire for early lease term penalties)

They can’t sell at the prices now. New values are not going to increase due to tariffs. The manufacturers will have to offer more discounts and incentives to move the ridiculous inventory out there now. They will eat the tariffs like they did before and still make an insane profit once they come down.

How is the market NOT going to crash? People are already stretched thin. If prices increase and people are not buying, how can employers afford to keep paying employees? How is it not inevitable that people are layed off and can't afford anything?

The tariffs will also increase car insurance rates. Even if you aren't buying a new car, you will pay more for the insurance on any car you own

I disagree. The conditions were completely different during covid. There was a shortage of vehicles, and daddy government was handing out checks like candy. Today, there is a surplus of vehicles, all stimulus dollars have dried up, and layoffs are on the rise. Jacking up prices will crush the dealers. They will have to realize that the economy is in a recession and they have to cut prices and play the volume game.

These Tarrifs are scare tactics. I highly doubt they are going to stay permanent. If so, this would be the way for Democrats to get back in control. Like the ridiculous WOKE agenda, was the way Republicans took over. Each party, seems to find something to upset the majority of people. This is why we see control, keep swaying back and forth, from Democrats and Republicans.

Better buying on the private sales market. Too many used car dealers just buy cars and clean them up a little to slap a higher price on them. Used cars on the private market are pricey enough. Why pay an extra $1k minimum for someone to splash water on them?

Why can't more people just drive and maintain the car(s) they have? Do people get a new car every year or something. I have two 2000 cars, and one 2003 car. Still running with just standard routine maintenance items (fluids, tires, brakes, suspension, wipers).

For the people that bitch about prices going up for no reason. There seems to a just as much shitting on Tesla for being the SOLE company to bring the prices down and pass the savings on the the consumer. My guess is you're super upset that they won't get hit as hard with tariffs because they already make their cars here with more American parts than anyone else...

First time checking out one of your videos. Kind of curious what my cars are worth on the market. Went to your caredge site to see about selling maybe a few of my rides just out of curiosity. You never know? I guess your site is for newer and modern cars only? Your site doesn't acknowledge Toyota MR2 Spyders. Your site was stating it doesn't recognize cars 12 years or older. That puts a lot of my other rides like my Chevy SSR and my Chrysler Prowler unrecognizable as well. Oh well.

When I drive up the 15 past the 60 here in Southern California there are many square miles full of unsold new cars and used cars just sitting there. There are also a ton of videos talking about how many of these companies are hiding their glut of inventory to keep prices high. Based on past experience, they will run out of space to store these vehicles and they will age and lose value, so they will all be dumped on the market at once. Plus, when this happened during the pandemic, people just kept their vehicles longer. Dealers need to be careful to not drive people away like they did with truck sales boosting to 125% over MSRP. The difference is when the pandemic started interest rates were low. Now, you will have higher prices with high interest rates. Dealers will have to figure something out.
