Oh THAT Stearman?
So cool!!! Congratulations!!!!
That's so sad but I hope it goes to good home as for sears tires the brand became Michelin tires.
ОтветитьThe sequence when you picked up the car at the Kansas aviation museum was well done.
ОтветитьNow a Mercedes 😎I was under sisters PT Cruiser putting the passenger side plastic splash cover under the control arm🙄 I got a new push pin hammered in and was dragging my tools to the big shed when I realized it was time for the drop. Ran in here and you were up 4 minutes ago. Sounds like a cool unique car with some history 👍 guess I'm late.
ОтветитьI would turn that sweet thing into a protouring modern ripper. TT LSX t6060 IRS. full tube front and rear.
ОтветитьThank you so much for another fantastic upload Mr. John Ross!
ОтветитьYou should try to reach out directly to Jay Leno to sell this one.
ОтветитьIf you're ever in the Dayton, Ohio area you should check out The National Museum of the United States Air Force. You could spend a couple days in there checking out everything.
ОтветитьCould be a cool time to call your dad.
ОтветитьYou just got my dream car a Heckflosse. Enjoy
ОтветитьHope your buying gold and silver too🤔
Ответитьany plans of doing any vids with your dad again? Is he ok.
ОтветитьHonestly if some magical Jeanie were to offer me this car or Hoovie's new Bugatti, I'd take this one. Love old mercs. I still contend the W123 is the pinnacle of car design. (yes I know this is this is a W110. I said what I said)
ОтветитьNever knew Sears made A/C systems
ОтветитьPretty cool pickup there JR! Look forward to seeing the resurrection!
ОтветитьI have a hood ornament that should fit if you want it let me know.
ОтветитьMb classic car idk what its really called but mb has a whole department for vintage mb
ОтветитьI have seen this car at the museum!
ОтветитьPolished to a mirror shine, these black fintails have amazing presence. There's one here in Prague I see time to time, and it's a sight to behold
ОтветитьBest car (regardless of previous owners) I’ve seen you purchase.
ОтветитьThe term original or all original is kind of inaccurate because if someone keeps up with all of the regular maintenance and stuff breaking on the car then it's not technically all original or it's original and a hooptie
ОтветитьWe had a 220 in the family.
The alternator has 2 rectifers in it, one for the battery and one for the regulator feedback.
If the charge system has issues be aware that the load rectifier has an open diode, and that causes incorrect voltage feedback and then it cuts back on the charge.
The clutch slave cylinder is easy to hone and fit new seals to as it is probably leaking.
The rod ends on the shift linkages are identical to Festo pneumatic cylinder rod end fittings, and the Festo fittings are cheap.
Those are the things I fixed on ours, pity we had to sell the car.
Needed the bucks to keep a roof over our heads.
junk
ОтветитьPut a 12 valve in it!😂
Ответить“I bought”…
ОтветитьWe had a shop for many years and we used to use hot coffee on batteries that had corrosion just like that. Pour the coffee everywhere that is corroded and wait a couple of minutes. Then rinse off with water. Just that easy and it doesn’t ruin anything. Works amazing. 😅
ОтветитьKeeping it original is novel, but I suspect this is a case of just being cheap, getting it running, and flipping the car with as little as possible spent. Department store dry rotted tires are not original, as are numerous other things on this car.
ОтветитьQuick! to O'Reilly's
ОтветитьIs the Merk the same car on the Kraktwerk cover?
ОтветитьI actually really wanted to polish this thing. I asked the museum a couple times 😂. Such an incredible piece of history!
ОтветитьCool car with a cool history.
ОтветитьFirst car I ever worked on as a professional automobile mechanic was the dealership owner's W111 300SE. Same body style, just the last version. Did an oil change. I remember it being quite a pretty car. Neat to see
ОтветитьTake a shot every time JR says cool😂
ОтветитьThe car most often confused with ramblers and mercury’s …. 😀as a pilot, that would be a really nice piece of history to add to my collection!👍🏼👍🏼
ОтветитьI agree that the Beech Starship is the coolest private aircraft to have ever been built. It was so far ahead of it time and unfortunately too expensive to become popular. I’ve been fortunate enough to get to ride in one a few times and have been around 3 flying examples on numerous occasions. They are very comfortable and very quiet airplanes and an experience that every aviation enthusiast should get to experience.
ОтветитьIf I ever get to the states I think Kansas is on my list , so many cool places
ОтветитьYes finally a car that's worth fixing and talking about. There's nothing else like an old Benz. Good show
ОтветитьIs that a Beechcraft starship in their field display? I got to fly one of those and it was nothing short of spectacular to me anyway!👍🏼👍🏼😀
ОтветитьJust replace the tires. Safety before history. Keep the originals and provide them to the next owner if they want to park it for another 20 years in a museum.
ОтветитьHad the same car in White many years ago. Only had to change the radiator. Utterly reliable otherwise.
Ответитьwhoo this brings back memories. learned to drive on my dad's 1964 220SE. 4 on the tree
ОтветитьUnfortunately young people today don’t want them classic and restored motorcars. It’s such a shame it really is. It really is.
ОтветитьCool car, John. Currently following Randy from Carcheology drive a fintail he bought in Alabama back to California. Good to see the old Heckflosse get some love. Unless you're willing to replace entire brake system, suggest not bothering replacing brake master. Maybe get clutch working to demonstrate movement, but leave the rest for the next guy. Money might be better spent on cosmetics believe it, or not. Replacing the missing Tri-Star rad cap would bring great ROE. Of course, you'll glue horn button back on, recommend replacing missing mirror as well. Little things that jump out at you when they're not there. If it weren't for the great Stearman provenance, I'd want to return car back to stock. All those old accessories, including Sears AC should be 86'd imo.
Ответить9X4 =36
Perfection!!!
Patina my butt
ОтветитьMy mother destroyed our cig vent by smashing it w her hand, saying our 67 mustang didn’t have a crank
ОтветитьThe statement about "dual magnetos" is just a bunch of crap. It might have dual coils but it definitely does not have even one magneto. It clearly has a single original distributor. If it had a magneto it would replace the distributor and there would be no coil since a magneto generates it's own power to the plugs. Just do some technical research on what a magneto is to see the truth of this claim (none).
ОтветитьGood for an LS CONVERSION😅
ОтветитьSounds like a project your dad needs to be involved with❤
ОтветитьEternal source of work
