Block Club Chicago: 5 Years Of Impact

Over the past 5 years, Block Club Chicago has learned the power of what we can do in collaboration with our neighbors is nothing short of incredible.

Our nonprofit newsroom has told 20,000 stories from the neighborhoods — stories that changed laws, led to criminal investigations and shined a light on so many of our neighbors working hard to have a positive impact on their blocks.

We’ve grown from 8 to 29 full-time staffers, covering dozens of new neighborhoods.

We count nearly 20,000 paid subscribers among our supporters.

And millions read Block Club, listen to our “It’s All Good” podcast, watch our “On The Block” TV show with WCIU or have been served by our free, bilingual COVID hotline.
