Games Workshop Just KILLED Warhammer

Typical. GW is a corporation. They suck, I want them to fail and sell off their IP.

Games workshop thinks people dont like beastmen because no one new wanted to play them. Maybe its because they were all old models!!! That were getting more expensive!! Also how the range was small asf.

I quit Warhammer 40k a few months ago after realizing how absurd the prices are. I’m all in on 3d printed miniatures now, might invest in a printer myself at some point. Fantastic, large, and detailed models for a fraction of the price.

Ive been into GW products on and off for almost 25 years. 40k, fantasy, inquistor, underworlds, killteam, AoS, silver tower, blackstone fortress, their video games etc.

They have grown and evolved over the years into a business that i just dont really care to keep giving money to.

Ive spent many, many hours enjoying their products. Building, painting, playing, connecting with others through their games.

I appreciate that. A business is a business. However, i think the way they disregard so many people who spend vast amounts of time and money for their success isnt right.

Ive been exploring other non GW tabletop games lately. Ill probably be investing my time in this hobby towards Conquest the Last Argument.

Ill be hanging onto my GW products. Will probably pick up Cursed City, but I dont play to start any more 40k or AoS/fantasy/ Old World armies.

It does suck I agree but the hobby isn't so much with them as it mostly belongs to the fans. So all of these minis will live on eternally in the form of rc and 3D printing. The actual books/rules is even less of a concern since a PDF is really easy to make and you can use older rules any time you want.
I get it though, the fact that they have the power to "make armies exist or not" is stressful for collectors. But it really shouldn't be.

The one positive thing that I would hope could come from this would be if this got people to try out some other miniature games on the market. There are honestly a ton of fantastic ones and I find it such a shame when people have only tried Warhammer and nothing else. My personal drug of choice is Malifaux, which is amazing, but as I said there are a lot of great ones.

How to update Warhammer 40k for modern audiences:
1. Remove the war stuff, war is triggering.
2. Hammers are patriarchal male coded, and so are eagles and skulls. Replace with pride flags.
3. Remove the xenophobia. Why is the Empire so xenophobic? Why are the elves so white supremacist? Change it all. Xenophobia is bad and bad things are bad.
4. Bugs are good. People are bad. Tyranids were always the hero faction.
5. Are we committed to the 40k as a millennium? Why not set it in the present day?

I havnet playede aos. I play warhammer fantasy bag ind the dag, but when they lilles nu 5000pionts skaben army of with age of shitmar they killed my interst ind the game. I hade just startet at berotinen and tomb Kings army and then they killed the game. So it does not Surprice that they killed age of shitmar

Solution? Play older iterations of you don’t like the new one.

Glad to have stopped to moneybuffing GW when they have killed Warhammer Fantasy. Still loving WH40k, playing Darktide sometimes, but there is nothing about buying Mins. Unfortunately ever loved painting more than playing :D

I'm glad I haven't put a single cent into anything GW related.

There are waaaay tooo many other wargame systems that are miniature agnostic and are 1000 times better than the weak ass GW game mechanics.
