Never liked that F1 isn't a drivers only championship and the team orders BS that's pervaded the series. I get it is an engineers wet dream and all but if design rules were set (never changed) teams would eventually find parity and then it'd be a drivers championship series and not also a constructors one.
I enjoy the marvel of innovation but like whats the point of it at the end of day if the driver is not the centre of the series. Innovation would happen without F1 because anyone likes to make stuff to sell- so that reasoning is lame. May as well just put AI into the cars and let all the boffins hold the cup. That'd be as as interesting as Robot Wars. Cool but like whatever. I watched F1 for about five years from 2008 and then came the boring Tilke tracks, DRS and other big engine changes. Grew tired and switched off. Only recently took a look at few races to see my boy Piastri- only cos who doesn't like seeing their fellow countryman succeed. But really the boringo factor is still there.
I like someone's idea on this thread that suggested a drivers race where the cars are spec and a constructors race where it's about the boffins and their array of gadgetry, all within same series/ category. That would be watchable, to me. Maybe seperate the grid into two cars one with innovation focus, the other drivers focus. No need for team orders but whole team collates points, trophies and prizes for best overall team.
The fact F1 car can't slipstream car infront kills competition without GIMMICKS requiring no skill like DRS to compensate
ОтветитьThe only thing I don't like about Indy-car is the BORING OVALS... that puts me to sleep.
ОтветитьF1 went from 50% engineering + 50% driver skills to about 95% engineering to 5% driver... that is BORING.
It's like watching two computers play CHESS... no thanks.
F1 needs two races - one for engineering and then one platform where things are equal in terms of cars, and the drivers can race to their limits... I would only care about the latter...
ОтветитьF1 picks winners... the best drivers are all handicapped.
ОтветитьF1 is pathetic - DRS killed it for me 100%... once they screwed up SLIPSTREAMING because of too much aero, the cars become DUDS... it truly is a joke.
F1 was at its peak during Mansell and Schumacher years - modern F1 is beyond boring AF.
I just pay attention to what the other cars are doing.
ОтветитьF1 has two competitions, drivers and construcors.
ОтветитьIf they just let them build whatever car they want you’d see more competition rather than capping everyone at a set standard.
ОтветитьHe is a Aussie discrace
ОтветитьThink what u want.. thats why its call F1
ОтветитьHelllllllll no! Will Power is wrong!!!!
ОтветитьComing from a guy who was a failure in f1? Sure
ОтветитьSomewhat. Maybe have the engines and stuff like that regulated
ОтветитьWho ?
ОтветитьShut up Will, you’re not driving in the series
ОтветитьWell then it wouldn’t be f1 anymore. So that will never happen
ОтветитьThe world already has driver-centric race car series - they're called Indycar. That's like tennis or athletics. The other approach is to compete teams and technology, like in football. That's called F1. Now tell football fans their game is a joke.
ОтветитьI like how his father named this man Will, Will Power
ОтветитьYeah dude sure, drives are lining up to race for indicar... Ow wait....
ОтветитьThe entire reason to watch F1 over everything else is what he is bitching about.. Go watch Indy..
ОтветитьF1 isn’t just a racing competition, it’s also an engineering competition.
ОтветитьThis aged like milk
ОтветитьMaybe enforce the same engines in F1, but as the engineers did during the 1970s, experiment with innovative ideas, such as the six-wheel Tyrrell and Alfa's "fan" car.
ОтветитьHe is idiot
ОтветитьNo F1 is different they already watered down into heavy cars without as much power as they could.
I suppose if you want to follow drivers more than constructors it would be appealing
Watch F1, never watched more than 10 minutes of Identicar series...
ОтветитьF1 competition is closer to life experience, not everyone have equal equipment and opportunity to achieve greatnes, there is regulation to keep it as fair as it could just like taxes, some pay taxes and some get benefit from it.
ОтветитьAwww the man who only made it as far as indy car doesn't understand the car development is part of the competition
ОтветитьOne is driving around in a cycle... the other is a pure competition for drivers who have a higher understand of the vehicle they drive than any other!
ОтветитьWho the hell is Will Power?
ОтветитьWhat road car technology comes from indy car? 😂😂😂 all comes from F1 you murican clowns
ОтветитьExcept if everyone had a red bull, the conditions would not exist for the red bull to be that good
ОтветитьIm a bit late to this conversation but I think that F1 teams should all have the same engines. Like indycar but the opposite. It would mean cars have basicly the same power and relibality while the teams can do whatever they want with the car.
ОтветитьI get what he means but better standard of drivers in F1 tho? I mean plenty of F1 drivers switch and do well Indy (heck Mansell as a rookie won in 1st season) but apart from Andretti who has made it the other way?
ОтветитьWill Power... what a clown.
ОтветитьF1 is number 1, it will always be this way
Ответить100%
ОтветитьHonestly watched Indy yesterday and was super boring
Ответить100% he’s correct! In Indy Car from top to bottom anyone has a chance to win. While in F1 you have 2 top teams and the others are just there for the fans to watch other drivers go around the track.
I enjoy both series but one is for entertainment while the other is to watch competitors compete for a win.
😂😂😂 Sure😅
Ответитьwhat a dumb take , F1 is the motor sport of the engineers, not the drivers ...you simpleton!
ОтветитьWhich is why I don't watch NASCAR, or Indy Car (basically NASCAR too), or any other spec series that only turns left.
ОтветитьNope hes wrong single make races are boring
ОтветитьIf I wanted to watch Indy car I'd watch Indy car, it's really that simple.
ОтветитьStupid, F1 is a constructors world championship. Typical driver believing the world spins around him.
ОтветитьWhat does Will Power know about F1? Maybe when he becones a real race care driver he can make a respectable comment.
ОтветитьIm torn on this. I see both sides 😮
ОтветитьThis is an old argument. F1 is actually a spec series too. The one of the specs is that you build your own chassis (or some percentage anyway) within the rules ... which makes it a spec series. The issue is that the BUDGET actually determines the winner nearly all the time. And the way the spec is it encourages spending tons on "useless" technology like the transmissions. It should be something like you can have as many speeds as you want with a mechanical linkage operated by the driver but only three if there are ANY electronics involved in any way. Or, you must use 83 octane unleaded fuel. Or, all parts must be made of specific metals. Any or all these things could reduce cost and narrow the field. If none of that works for you then all races should be held on wet courses.
