5 Amazing Finds Beneath the Sands of the Sahara

I know this video is nearly four years old but I saw a NatGeo documentary about the paleontologist turned archeologist. Turned out it was a NatGeo cameraman, attached to the dino-search they were all out there for for another documentary, who found the human bones while having a small wander away from the main dig for some scenic shots.

Dude thought he found some small dino-bones, followed along the bone-trail, found a skull, and basically went "Holy shit! Guys! I HAVE HUMAN BONES OUT HERE."

They shifted gears, because holy shit, human bones, confirmed ancient human bones and...then it was the end of the allotted time for the original dig.

Shit went down in the surrounding area for a couple years before it was safe enough for scientists to get out there and then they were able to return.

They found more skeletons but they were in pretty bad shape due to the sands and winds sorta shearing exposed bones away over time, especially for the already fragile kid and baby bones they found, and it was hard to dig in the sands so the paleontologists did something that rather controversial in archeology circles but is a-okay in paleontology circles.

They busted out the tinfoil, liquid glue, and plaster, dug around some of the bodies, including the woman+two kids (one was actually a baby and IIRC the other was somewhere around eight years old at ToD, give or take a year or so), dumped the glue over the entire burial, wrapped them up like leftovers from dinner, then plastered them before shipping them back to the lab in the states, scanning the bundles into computers, and fully excavated them in controlled circumstances while recording the entire process every step of the way.

Because of their methods, they were able to make a resin replica of the burial of the woman+kids for other scientists to study and museums to display and keep the real bones safe for further study.

This looks very much like it could have been once a lush area destroyed by the nuclear fallout of 2024BC. It was clearly documented that there was an "evil cloud" that left dwelling areas intact but completely void of life.

Carbon dating is theoretical because there is no way of determining the accuracy of someone's claim that something is 100 thousand years old, for example.

If you believe that crocodile-like skeleton is as old as you say it is and/or if you believe in dinosaurs, than you'll believe anything but the truth. The only dinosaurs that ever existed are in man's imagination and the movies and the skeletons they show you in museums are not real bones, they are far from it, they are man made plasters.

I'm so glad those crocs are extinct!!! I love hearing about these ancient people who lived in a totally different world. We'll never know what their world was like. The landscape pictures are starkly beautiful. Geologist Robert Schock has done intensive study on the area around the Sphinx in Egypt, determine the Sphinx had to be much, much older than imagined because the erosion around it showed it had been there since a time of heavy inundations, which hasn't happened in that area for over 10,000 years. I know now that I had the carbon dating years wrong. I've been bombarded with comments about this for months. I didn't make it up on the spot, I read it. It was obviously a bogus article.
