I think that really helps with bat drag, that usually happens when the elbow slots toward the belly button. I think some kids it can even help to try to slot the elbow towards the kidney at the back rather than to the side to prevent the elbow sliding. Good video

I've found the main reason for bat drag (the back elbow pinching forward searching for the bat knob and belly button) is the premature straightening of the lead arm. It's mechanical action: straighten the front arm and the back arm starts to straighten out also. So, straighten the lead arm too early and you begin straightening the back arm too early pulling the elbow forward. Kids don't understand pecks and scaps, but they do understand keeping the lead arm bent/hinged till the last moment.

Gabe, Do you have any drills for someone who gets their back elbow away from their body? Not bat drag but the elbow is not tight near the body? Thanks for any advice

Looks more like he’s rotating his body around his spine.
