I am just getting into indie game development with a few friends. It is amazing how valuable good artists are to businesses and games. Not to mention, the price tag that comes with hiring a good artist. They're making logos, websites, 3D models, the textures for the 3D models, designing quality User Interfaces and game menus. You can easily spend $10,000 on a good artist to make beautiful 3D models for games.
