Intro sounded like Chris fix 🤣🤣
ОтветитьI love the term OEM+, making the OEM look/sound just a little bit better!
ОтветитьSo you don’t need the Loma sticking straight up to adjust?
ОтветитьI’m going to do the valve adjustment on my new-to-me 9th gen Si over the weekend thanks for the video!
ОтветитьAm I the only one who deletes the idle air assist ?😂
ОтветитьHow expensive is this on a Honda Odyssey?
ОтветитьMiles?
Ответитьsubscribed
Ответить@ALLDAYANTHONY do you know if this method and specs apply to a k24z3?
Ответить😵 Autolites!!!😮
ОтветитьAs someone who has a k24, yall may wanna put a disclaimer that TDC isn't the same on all K series engines. Can't just go by the arrows. You actually have to read your service manual and find out where TDC is on each cylinder.
Ответитьwow, what a clean RSX.
ОтветитьCody tech is a true professional great job!
ОтветитьMan, I got an issue with my CRV but after I see this video, I’m gonna go into it to adjust the valves 👍
ОтветитьHello Sir, is there a torque spec for the valve lash 10 mm adjustment nut?
ОтветитьWish I had a tech like that where I live. The I use to use was supposed to be a k series expert but he is not.
Ответить.23/.27 seems a little much of a gap.
.023/.027 would seem more accurate.
I gotta do a valve adjustment on the K20A3 in my EP3. Idk if that'll fix the lifter tick or not
ОтветитьWhat valve clearances should be set and the nut tightening torque?
ОтветитьWhat should I expect to pay to have this service done?
ОтветитьAfter adjusting the valves you never torqued them down. Or is hand tight good enough?
Ответитьnice! my 20-year adjustment tool has the large handle that will not fit in my current engine bay so I am going to have to replace it with a shorty
ОтветитьWhen you guys spoke about motor temps. Are you speaking 96 degrees Fahrenheit or celsius?
ОтветитьFun fact if you machine shop decides to use normal bolts for this job it will need a adjustment every 4k miles ask me how I know.
ОтветитьBe very careful if you're not a mechanic and attempt this job. I did a valve job on my 2010 Honda Accord with 2.4l engine and everything went according to the instructions I had (AllData DIY). However, once I buttoned everything up I got code P0352 Ignition Coil B malfunction. The car ran very rough and had almost no power whatsoever. I was attempting the valve adjustment after my car was making some clacking noises at low idle. I was going to change the plugs but thought it was a good time to check the valve lash clearance. Each one was extremely tight and I couldn't get a feeler gauge in on any of the intake or exhaust valves. Taking it to the dealer I was told that cylinder 2 was dead and that each of the adjustments I had made were too tight. The valves were adjusted by the mechanic to the correct spec's and cylinder 2 was still inoperable. I'm being told that I need a complete engine overhaul or a replacement used engine at significant cost. The mechanic couldn't say with absolute certainty that the job I performed was what caused the failure. I like to think it was the "straw that broke the camel's back' as they say but I feel guilty that I was the one that destroyed my engine. The timing chain was never removed. Not sure what went wrong. The engine had 198k miles on it. Be careful.
ОтветитьI like this guy
ОтветитьVery interesting. Looking into resealing a motor and freshening it up and just trying to take in as much information as I can. Im curious though is the measurement for intake always 0.09 and exhaust always 0.11 ?
Ответить34 minutes, and you did even show the car running before and after
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThis is a fantastic video. I’m assuming this would the the same for all K series? I’m assuming this is a k24 but mine is a k20z3
ОтветитьGreat video and very well explained, cos i have gotta do my Civic type R k20 soon.
ОтветитьWow, great guide and explanation from Cody. Have some work I would love to do on my 2013 TSX. How would I be able to book Cody?
ОтветитьCome to Ny and help me with my TL SHawd…any master techs in NY $$$
ОтветитьDoes this affect the compression ?
ОтветитьGreat job Cody. It was a real treat to see a master tech at work!
ОтветитьProbably a dumb question, but would this be pretty similar to my 2016 civic 2.0?
ОтветитьGreat video which I think is applicable to anyone adjusting valves on a 4 cylinder Honda. I will use these pointers for when I do my CR-V. And Cody, Halloween is coming ... you'd make a great Messi.
Ответитьusually im doin this on semi truck engines, last year 1st time on an H22 engine... was feelin like im doin an heart surgery :DD
ОтветитьHi. Great video! What are the thickness of feeler gauge did he used on intake and exhaust? Thanks.
Ответитьthis video is making me want to do a valve adjustment on my 60k-mile K24 😅
Ответить👍
ОтветитьMan, I did everything this tech did and I still had to take it in to a mechanic. Maybe the engine was a lot warmer than I thought. It just needed better tools, cause those looked a lot easier to use.
ОтветитьIs it the same for B series?
ОтветитьWas there a torque spec on the valve nuts?
Ответитьyears to master? dude its not that hard. bake cakes if it takes you that long
ОтветитьWhats the price to have them adjusted by a technician ?
ОтветитьI wish we had a Cody near us. Our local Honda dealer is not the best.
ОтветитьThis guy is a master. I was terrified when he said no Anti-Seize and pulled out his electric impact gun. But his trigger control was great. On my k24 the previous owners shop cross threaded and over torqued the starter bolts. So, when the starter failed all the treads came out with the bolts. Some people don't need to be using power tools if they don't know the difference between aluminum, steel, iron.
