There are VSTs of the Neuron, but they work best on older systems as the Mac one is no AU and the rare Windows one appears to 32-bit.

It's crazy...but I followed its development for years on the Internet at that time...and then I rushed to the store to check it out...and then I said: "Mehhh.." lol
It was a wonderful...catastrophe, the worst sounding synth I've ever tested, but some people like it.

I know I've heard this thing before but I'll be damned if I can place where or when.

A few years back Stefan Bernsee (primary coder/architect of the Neuron’s software) posted some audio examples of what the Neuron engine would sound like running on updated CPUs. Not sure if or how much the code base was updated. Anyway, with the more powerful CPUs of today, the improvement in the sound was unreal…the depth and clarity were considerable better.

There’s no technical reason that a plugin version of the Neuron (or preferably Neuron Mk2) couldn’t be released today. I wish Stefan and Axel could work something out….

Have wanted one for so long. But sounds thinner than I remember. Probably like when you go back to your old house after decades and it looks so small. Belongs in a synth museum, nonetheless.

I still love my neuron. It's not a everydays synth but it's got it's special sounds.
From time to time I do extreme sounds with it, especially the blender functions bring a lot crazy possibilities 😊

I've only ever seen two of these in person and both were broken. Always wanted to try one

I don't believe shit about all that neural network bullshit... that kind of research isn't advanced enough at that point to do what they say the synth does.
Also, the SOS review showed some technical details that did not match any type of modeling. For me it's just a catchy name that they used as advertising for something that was intended to be shown as highly futuristic and groundbreaking.

I was an early adopter and instant buyer of the Neuron back... but then I sold it and this is one of the things I regret most.

A very special synthesizer. Actually is the last new thing happened to synthesizer world.

It sounds worse than my garbage-can Alesis Quadra synth from 1996.

Back in the days it was revolutionary. Now you have software that goes way beyond.
