You could start with 10k stone with the stipulation that you sell it all immediately in feudal. This would leave you with a lower amount of gold to experiment with.

I think all the 4 guys really had to do was stall as long as possible to build eco. Lots of stone walls and upgrade to fortified if possible. Might have been a bit boring but you can't go regular strats in this type of situation. In the end, he can't win 1v4 late game.
