The sus2 starting from the A string on guitar is my favorite chord, only cuz it’s hard to hit a regular barre lol

As a guitar player, these chords are the best. They sound so ethereally good, and has a sort of sense of mystery and melancholy.

I believe the intro to Peter Gabriel’s “Solsbury Hill” uses both suspended chords of B major. The progression is Bsus4, B, Bsus4, B, Bsus2

I don't know if it's just me, but my ears really want sus2 to go to the fifth chord, e.g a C sus 2 to resolve to G with its third at the bottom (i.e. C-D-G to B-D-G)

If anyone remembers Blessid Union of Souls's "Brother My Brother", which was used in that first Pokemon movie soundtrack, it's almost entirely built on sus2 chords. It is supplemented with other standard chords, but mostly sus2, and I think that's part of what gives it the emotional quality it has. That Dsus2 into G major at the end of the chorus is beautiful

It is my understanding that when a chord is labeled "sus" (not specifying sus2 or sus4) it is up to the individual to pick the sus chord type to use, not because it is assumed to be sus4. I could have this wrong though. Would've been nice to have given a shout out to Marty for use of his clip

David! great video as usual!!! What about "winner takes it all" from ABBA? I think is interesting as they constantly play with a phase of Sus4 + 3rd + Sus2 + Tonic... which s brillant, IMO.

I love the simplicity of the intro/verse chord progression in Read My Mind by The Killers, which is just I Isus4 Isus2 V (of course, Isus2 is essentially also Vsus4). It sounds almost hymnal.

Erasure’s A Little Respect also comes to mind immediately when I think of suspended chords!

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald starts with a sus 2 and even though the other chords are triads it never plays the third of the tonic so you never know if it is in a minor or major key.

Csus2 does work as a substitute for the ii chord in a ii-V-I progression, imo. For instance, instead of a Dm-G-C, you could do Csus2/D-G7-C.
