Why do you salivate for a thinner phone? The new display is still made by Samsung. Apple is always late to the game and relies on parts from their competitors. For example: Apple had to be forced to incorporate the USB-C port. Why didn't they do it sooner. USB-C is a far superior technology. They did it because forcing their customer to remain imprisoned is paramount.

The latest rumours are saying the 17 air will have a 6.5 inch screen not a 6.7 inch screen. The reason for the smaller screen was customers weren’t buying the 6.7 inch plus model

Why does Apple build a thin IPhone? It’s too thin for a good battery and “thin” means a cheap/bendable, easy to break IPhone..!

The iPhone 6 was the thinnest they have ever made at 6.7mm.

Thin is not nearly as much of a consideration as weight.
