CRATER LAKE'S OLD MAN OF THE LAKE, UNDERWATER VIEW

Really cool Video, I would've been terrified to put my camera in the water. I had to learn things about Crater Lake for a class and this was very interesting to see what it looks like below the surface :)

yikes! creeped out, moving towards it gave me the chills.

That was crazy, really weird you could feel the energy of the tree. I heard weird music underwater and at the end you can see a clear face in the tree looking back at the camera

That’s just spooky. I’m sure there is a scientific explanation for how a tree floats vertically, but it just don’t seem right.

I certainly hope everybody understands that the ‘old man’ is now just a weighted hunk of plastic.
The original ‘old man’ submerged in a storm way back in the 40’s but it had already been horizontal for years.
The anomaly has been refurbished several times but the current replica of the old man has been around since 2003.
It’s still a cool story though.

From far it really does look like an old man standing on the lake 😅

it's not defying nature. the root clump is heavy pulling it down, the wood is buoyant keeping it out, they're fighting each other and thus it stays upright

I just finished a creepypasta about how this thing isn't tree but some kinda creature n now im hella skeptical of this so called tree, why would they make a replica of it?

Its a tree, not to mention how did they get that thing to stand up like that?

Did they go to the bottom of the lake n bury it?

It's a deadhead log. It's weighed down at the bottom by either rocks, dirt, or even a massive ant colony. Pretty much it fell in and the bottom was heavier than the top, and because the top wasn't ever in the water, it never got heavy and sunk. The top instead dried out way more and got even lighter, making the whole thing more stable

That log was first seen floating upright in 1889. Who knows how long before that it fell into the lake. Its rootball probably has some sizable stones trapped by the root system, which keeps it upright as the bottom is heavier than the top. Except for the top 3 or 4 feet of the log, the entire trunk is encased with vegetation.

As an other tribal native, not Klamath, the site interests me a lot, but not to the point of going there for myself. Definitely seems to have something out of the ordinary going on there, and I'm not the character of horror films to test if the legends are true.
