Flashback to 2010 Home Automation Programming

Flashback to 2010! Back then a first generation RTI XP8 home automation processor was installed in this condo controlling five zones of media, Lutron lighting, Somfy shades and Aprilair thermostat. After installation the system ran without service calls for eight years before the new owner did a tuneup and refresh. During that time the parts that failed were both remote control dock power supplies, the Lutron RA2 main repeater power supply, both subwoofers. Shade automation interface had to be reprogrammed. Remote control batteries have to be replaced. One remote control screen was cracked. During the tuneup we switched from component video matrix distribution to HDMI by replacing the main AV receiver but the overall design of the system remained unchanged. #effortlesselectronics #homeautomation
