This is Prof. Matt McCormick's second intro lecture for Philosophy of Mind, Phil 153, in the Dept. of Philosophy at California State University, Sacramento. He discusses the divide and conquer approach to building a sound theory of consciousness with neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology. Topics covered include the nature of attention, awareness, the evolution of consciousness, sentience, representational theories of mind, and the role of meta-cognition.
