I still have this VHS of this same airing. This was during that time, “My Little Pony: The Movie” was shown in theaters.

Things are too fragmented now. This was when America was truly great. We need to reunite.

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston was ethereal. Larger than life talent that woman possessed.

Loved finding this. I worked for ABC at Liberty State Park in the trucks for this broadcast.

I was working in the World Trade Center on a high floor and remember all of us stopped working and watched from conference room windows when the fireworks started. It was spectacular!

I remember watching this back in the Philippines for an entire month, because they aired this for four Fridays. I remember this because I have to fight everyone for the television back then. This was the show that prompted my desire to move to this country and it happened after one year after the celebration. I have been in this country since 1987 and in the spring of 2000, I finally saw the statue itself. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Memories of a day when people still loved America. I miss those days.
