Not surprised by the demand for these. I would guess it works fine on the Wii. How about USB adapters for Switch and whatnot?
ОтветитьA couple of years ago, I bought a Wavebird with its original receiver. It worked perfectly. I stopped using it for a long time (without batteries), and when I tried to use it again, it wouldn't work. The controller's light came on, but the receiver's didn't. I tried a bunch of different batteries and couldn't get it to work. I was told it's a fairly common problem with this joystick. So here it is, unused and gathering dust. 🤷♂
ОтветитьJust ordered 3! Thank you everyone involved and thank you Tito for sharing!
ОтветитьGonna connect it to my 8bitdo gbros so i have a wireless wireless controller.
ОтветитьI’d love to see your immaculate computer setup/ game testing area, and the studio
ОтветитьYooo, you came clutch. Years ago I found a wave bird without it's receiver for 5 bucks in swapment in Mexico. I never made the plunge to buy the receiver cause it was hella expensive. Thanks Man!!!!😅
ОтветитьMan, I just want something like the 8bitdo controllers. A controller that adds modern features like a second Z button, clicky sticks, motion control, while keeping backwards compatibility and the analog triggers.
Ответитьwas thinking instead of re-plugging the dongle try power cycle the controller
ОтветитьMay be worth seeing if you can go back a channel then forward a channel. Instead of unplug and replug
Ответитьhaving to unplug and replug for it to work after booting the gamecube could be a dealbreaker for a lot of people, something I love with the xbox 360 and my ps4 controller si that they are plug and play with any system once conected to it, usually, especially with consoles, most of my consoles arnt physically acessible, I turn them on with the controller, and if it cant do that, well I guess I cant play it...
tho, its still verry cool, tho its not to the plug and play level that most consoles are sadly
Bro, how am i supposed to save money when you keep showing em cool things i want to buy. I blame you for me being broke. Lol
ОтветитьI strongly suspect that the cause of that power on connection issue (now solved as you mentioned in your comment!) is that the receiver had to "look" for the controller and then "tell" the GC it was present, and in all likelihood that "tell" part was missing.
ОтветитьI might argue that making sure the channel wheel on the wavebird and receiver is pairing, but just a mechanical pairing instead of a software based logical pairing that the new receiver uses. Nonetheless, I'm happy to see that these old controllers are being saved from landfills.
ОтветитьI’m lucky enough to still have my two original wavebirds with receivers
ОтветитьDoes it stay connected is the question. I used their internal BT mod and that thing disconnected so many time during gameplay I just went back to the wavebird. I'm very hesitant to buy from them after that
ОтветитьAwesome video and very cool device! I'm just glad that I bought 2 wave birds back in the day and picked up two more a few years ago, but you are totally right there's a lot of controllers without the receivers
ОтветитьI’ve always felt lucky owning 4 Wavebirds with their 4 receivers intact but I am so glad that people who’ve lost their receivers or never got the receiver can make use of their Wavebirds now.
ОтветитьThank you so much for your video 🤩
Ответитьwas the wave bird the 1st first-party wireless controller?
ОтветитьWell, it’s been solved by now, but one thing I didn’t see you try to solve the bug was turning the wave bird off and on again. I think there’s a chance it would’ve solved the problem the same than unplugging it. But glad they resolved it so fast~
ОтветитьI got mine and have been using it for a few days and it's absolutely flawless!
ОтветитьI'd totally buy a USB version, would save having to also buy a USB to GC adapter for using on a PC.
Ответитьhas anyone already tried pairing one wavebird with more than one receiver? I want to control several gamecubes with one controller
ОтветитьEXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! can u control multiple consoles with 1 controller? Yes or no? Because that's the whole thing why so many pokemon shiny hunters look for this controller. And i don't want to buy 3 or 4 of this receiver only to lose my money.
ОтветитьI would love to see a Blueretro Controller pcb with that adaptor intergrated into it, along with a modern open source Wave Bird Controller with built in rumble support.
ОтветитьWe didn't deserve the Wavebird in an era of MadCatz
ОтветитьBeen following this project since last summer, it's been pain watching recievers get hoarded by Pokémon shiny hunters and resellers so it's been beautiful to see the project evolve from the beginning. Hopefully the prices don't invert now & the controllers end up spiking as scalpers rush to hoard the stock
ОтветитьWe now need a USB version.
ОтветитьWow! 25 dollars for a replacement. I am sold
ОтветитьOh wow! I was excited till I heard the price. Happy for everyone else tho
ОтветитьGamecube shiny hunters are foaming at the mouth right now
ОтветитьLETS GO
ОтветитьHow about an N64 version of this adapter, so we can use the Wavebird with the N64?😂
ОтветитьThe only problem I have with this is the size of the unit. Not that it's a bad size but I'd like to see an option for original sized casing to mostly match the original. I only say this because I have 2 with their receiver and just want that full look you'd have with the originals filling all the ports
Ответитьwould rather have a clunky dial tbh
Ответитьah i have this controler + plug =)
ОтветитьIt's nice that Nintendo now sells wireless GC controllers for Switch.
ОтветитьThat's cool I have 5 wave birds with only 3 receivers. This is great news, I guess it wasn't trivial cause it always surprised me how there wasn't any 3rd party solution, considering missing receivers has been a considerable problem for years
ОтветитьSomeone needs to do this for wireless music instruments on ps3.
ОтветитьMy wavebird has a loose joystick 😢 but I could never bring myself to get rid of it.
ОтветитьVery cool, I have two wavebirds I have never used and this may be a solution
ОтветитьReally refreshing to watch a Tito video without hearing that same(loud) background music over and over again on the main channel.
ОтветитьSo for people that do have the receivers, technically you could buy these and sell the originals for profit? 😂
ОтветитьI've owned a Wavebird and lost the receiver for years. But then I found out I can use any receiver and bought one on ebay and it works! But then I remembered there's no rumble on Wavebirds.
ОтветитьMy favorite magazine ad for the wavebird was the kid setting on the toilet with the door cracked open using a mirror to play spiderman 😂
ОтветитьDoes it work with a Wii?
ОтветитьATTENTION: The small bug I found when power cycling the Gamecube has been resolved in a firmware update. Firmware updates are done over bluetooth and Greg of LaserBear Industries will be publishing a video soon that provides instructions on how to do this. Thanks to Chill Summer who told me of this update!
