I went to public school, I have dyslexia, yet at the time teachers didn’t know why i couldn’t learn how to read. I’m a 90s kid. Well because of great parents that fought for me I ended up going to a private tutoring school; paid by my school district. This school attracted child athletes and actors. We went for 2 hrs a day one on one teaching. I live near Hollywood, CA. Well I learned in 3 month to read and after a year I was at my grade level in all subjects after 3 yr I was well above average. In my opinion school is a waist of time. Now with my oldest turning 3 this year I’m so excited to homeschool. All that to say don’t be doubtful 2 hours a day can be more than enough time to learn everything you need to know K-12. When kids put more time no wonder homeschoolers tend to graduate earlier even attend college at 13yrs.

Homeschool first year after receiving a report card for my little girl (kindergarten) that had "understanding diversity" on it. Sad. Teachers cant explain why that's important nor can they define diversity on any scale. Time for adults to take power away from the education system that has become predators masked in virtue.

My first time coming across this channel- I was wondering is there anyone with a child with AUTISM that may have started with homeschooling? My son will be going to HeadStart this year but I am really going to be extra observant of him being at school only because he is nonverbal with severe autism and I would hate to know if I were dropping him off somewhere he just really would feel overwhelmed. He went to PRESCHOOL at a different elementary school and now HeadStart where his sisters go. Nervous and been trying to learn more about HOMESCHOOLING if that could be an option for me.😓 this channel by the way is just wow!!! You are doing so awesome for your kids!

Having that regular schedule is always something we tried to do, but STICKING to it was always the challenge! 🙂There were always things and events coming up where we're take advantage of being able to do things during the week, and then would throw the schedule off. But we did end up finding a way to be adaptable for when those scheduled change unexpectedly!

I Recommend you Chris Ferrie, he has very interesting books about science for kids!

I'm a retired elementary teacher. I would highly recommend the Magic Treehouse book series by Mary Pope Osborne. They are great reading stories and incorporate a lot of history and geography. My students always loved them. You could probably find them in the library.

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend some reading books for a thirteen year old. I am tutoring this student for SAT and scholarly writing, but the parents would like me to recommend some library books. The family is from India. I am not sure of their religion. I want to give him books that will influence him in Judeo- Christian values and beliefs without being overt. Thanks for any help with this. 🤍

Home school is better if you want your kids to actually learn.. public schools don't really care about our children's future Anymore!!! They just want a check.. One on One with each child is SO MUCH BETTER. THEN HAVING ONE STUFF IN FRONT OF A WHOLE CLASS ANYWAYS UNLESS THEY CAN MANAGE LOTS OF KIDS WELL.

This is so helpful! My son is 2 right now and I think I really want to homeschool him. Even if it is for a few days out of the week when he his school age later on.

How do you know which curriculum you need to follow for each grade?

I rarely comment on anything but as an adult who was homeschooled I feel strongly on this subject. I’d think carefully about how it can affect your children later in life. I hope for the sake of your kids you are able to educate and socialize them properly. Granted there was a level of fundamentalist Christianity thrown in with my experience the fact is that as one of 6 homeschooled children I and my siblings have faced real and serious struggles as adults due to our homeschooling upbringing.
