About the Show
"Tango and Beyond” features musical works that highlight a genre that has captivated composers with its sensuous style and music throughout the 20th Century. “Tango and Beyond” will bring a classical flavor to the Argentine tango style and its connection to other genres. From tango master’s like Carlos Gardel and Le Pera favorites "El Día que me Quieras", "Mi Buenos Aires Querido" during the golden era of tango, to Piazzolla’s Nuevo Tango with works like "Maria de Buenos Aires". The influence of Habanera in the tango style extended to classical composers such as Bizet "Carmen's Habanera", Kurt Weill "Youvali" and Stravinsky "Tango”, and the romantic bolero tango by Maria Grever "Jurame".
