This was amazing. Life is just funny sometimes.

I’ve watched a LOT of these ancestry shows over the years and have done a good bit of my own research. Never have I seen an episode that has given me the feeling of nostalgia and awe this episode has. It’s as if both these men are reincarnates of their forefathers they are learning about. You can literally feel the hands that put them together on this journey. I know their 3x great grandfathers knew each other from an episode of “Who Do You Think You Are”. There is much more to their stories than given here. I wonder why they didn’t get more into the details 🤔🤔??

Who knows maybe your granddads were good friends like the two of you.

It's all very interesting particularly given the televised twist but honestly some of us want nothing to do with most of our immediate relatives so this could either end up being absolute torture or perhaps, just maybe a welcome surprise.....though for me odds are the former.....

I too, have My Irish calling me, However , I am more German according to my Family tree and no Irish! I have not done the DNA and know we are Irish on my Maternal Grandmother's side with an Irish last Name !lol! My Sis did the DNA and we are Irish! Our Irish Family ended in Devon, England by the Name of Dunn!

so...prince of whales switched out with buddy...giving himself an "alibi" for debauchery or hidden hobbies....hhhmmm....when was Jack the Ripper? and what royal was possibly implicated in that one?...and was a switch done back then too?

What a wonderful Show, great story and great cast of Characters. I can see the seeds of new stories and productions that highlight the connections within ourselves and our Ancestors and how they relate to the world today.

Brilliant episode.. No doubt their GGGGrandfathers(?) knew each other. Seems impossible that they wouldn't have.

I'm a Canadian woman who had her ancestry done, and I'm 80% Irish - English French,German, and Dutch. I heard my mother's mom was Scottish, but I was surprised it I didn't say Scottish.

Its been said that we are all connected through our past lives. I think they have always been friends in this life and as John and Andrew. They just knew who each other were Andrew reconized his friend John in their descendants

This was wonderful to watch (all of these are). I especially appreciate that Hugh made a tv appearance without his usual "lippy," I believe y'all across the pond like to call it (call back to a Graham Norton appearance I saw a while back)! Courageous move, sir!!

For some reason, I was drawn to watch this particular episode. I watched it all, and it wasn't until the last 10 minutes that I knew I was somehow connected to this story. I was a very young girl when I came across a very old picture in a book, it was of Daniel O'Connell. My mother said he was my 4th or 5th great-grandfather and that her grandmother was Catherine O'Connell. I've done some research and never was able to draw the entire line back because of a lack of names. My mother had O'Connell relatives in Pennsylvania and New York. Ironically, I came from poor beginnings and worked my way up and ended my dispatching career as the president of my union for the CA Highway Patrol Dispatchers Association. I got chills when they mentioned the march being led by Daniel O'Connell.!

HUGH'S DNA RESULTS SOUND A LOT LIKE MINE AND I'M AMERICAN! LOL
