Great video !!
ОтветитьLooks good, but I would be amazed if the gradient is 30%. That's steep for a funicular!
ОтветитьMOB ordered Stadler locomotives
ОтветитьVery nice! Trainwindowviews is a good hashtag 😅
ОтветитьWe took this train, was not this new equipment. We went to that exact Migrolino for snacks and food as even though we had first class tickets there wasn't food services. (Maybe water and hot drinks? Been too long I don't remember.) They were elevated over the other classes. However the route was exactly the same. Was an amazing journey!
ОтветитьRealy Nice Video. It is intresting you did not find weelchairspaces though. To meet the requirements of the laws in switzerland MOB had to buy one couch per trainset with level boarding and wheelschairspaces. I dont know if or why this was not in use in your set. Also the maximum gradient of the line is not 30%. Dont know where this number is from. That would be impossible to do without a rack if even. Its 72 ‰ but thats allready a very much for a adhesion based railway.
ОтветитьSummer 2022 I made an Interrail Eurotrip.
There was no reservation fee, but I only used it to Spiez.
My guess is this train serves as a local/regional train there and then there are other trains from Spiez, so it can charge more.
Thanks1😊
ОтветитьSteve Marsh stayed in Freddie Mercury hotel 😀
ОтветитьThis is one for my bucket list. Stunning!
Ответитьwhy can’t all train in the world have interior like this, why do I have to sit in plastic chairs and almost non existent air con
ОтветитьGreat trip and yeah great train.
Ответитьit's so beautiful IRL :D I remember our trip to CH, couln't have asked for anything better :)
ОтветитьSwitzerland is most certainly on my bucket list, amazing scenery. Great job.
ОтветитьI've travelled from chur to st moritz
Ответитьwhich rail pass is better in switzerland, Eurail or Swiss Travel Pass? i liv in the US
ОтветитьOh my gosh that train plushie is so cute! We need more train plushies!
ОтветитьI went to Switzerland once and stayed near Geneva. I took the golden pass train for the day. I loved it there and I wanted to stay there.
ОтветитьI love Switzerland and would love to live there.
ОтветитьDo you think that Switzerland has the prettiest scenery in Europe?
ОтветитьYou should do the Dublin Hueston to Killarney Train, especially if Iarnod Éireann are doing any special trains - or on any steam trains with the RPSI 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪😍
ОтветитьI have been on trains in Switzerland, but no scenic ones.
I still cried while I was onboard, for two reasons: 1. The scenery was just breathtaking; 2. The price I had to pay to be there.
I travelled from Zurich to Lucerne, from Lucerne to Bern, and from Bern to Lausanne. No panoramic trains, but the scenery was still amazing.
Great video of this fantastic train!
As I work for the MOB, here are some small things I would like to add:
For accessibility, MOB recently recieved new low level coaches, with wheel chair areas and level boarding with the platforms.
Yor pronounciation of Chateau-d'Œx was spot on! However for Gstaad you pronounced it more like 'Guestaad' (but don't worry, even for us french speakers it's difficult to say it correctly😅)
For the maximum gradient of the route, it's 7% (1 in 14), 30% is already steep for a rack railway, it would be impossible for adhesion rolling stock to climb this!
Next time you come, make sure to check out the GoldenPass Belle Epoque with lovely old coaches, or the GoldenPass Panoramic with forwards seats having an unobstructed view of the tracks ahead!
I wouldn’t publicise the trains or the country! Ridiculous prices and scenery better elsewhere
ОтветитьLove the rains. Heated seats, clouds, hot chocolate we are all set for winter travel in Swiss. When will amtrak get heated seats..never is obvious answer.
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks. We love Switzerland (my husband worked there for a couple of years in the 90s), and go whenever we can to visit friends and travel on what we call the “Swiss Federal Train Set” - it has the greatest integrated public transport network in Europe, if not the World. It used to be considered expensive, but I’d say that travelling on the UK’s trains nowadays is about the same, and there are several ways of making it less expensive - The Inter-rail and Swiss Travel Passes for example. We look forward to taking the Golden Pass train next time we’re there (probably 2025). We’ve done the MOB and it’s a great trip with amazing scenery; but then Switzerland has amazing scenery just about anywhere in the country.
ОтветитьMontreux on Lake Geneva? Must be new and built after Freddy Mercury's demise. My canton of Vaud has a chique city called Montreux . It is on Lac Léman, which is part Swiss, part French.
ОтветитьKereta ygbagus sekali..serasakita ikut naik terimakasih vidionya
ОтветитьAnd who's in the premium class? Mostly railway staff travelling on an pass or even in uniform.
ОтветитьBrother Russia High Speed rail Moscow to Saint Petersburg 1st class
ОтветитьI love their Style of station modernization with the piebald passage at Montreaux. To translate Middle European grade calculations multiply the distance by 100 - so 30% is actually 3% = three feet (or three meters) of elevation in 300 feet (or 300 meters) of linear distance.
ОтветитьThe precision of Swiss trains allows for some really tight transfers! I took a connecting train from Lausanne to Montreux to get to the Golden Pass Express. The train that I took arrived at 9:31am, so I only had three minutes to make my connection to the Golden Pass Express train. I was quite relieved to discover that I just had to walk across the platform!
ОтветитьFor all people who are low on money: Seat reservations aren‘t mandatory (recommended though), that means, you can just sit in and take your first or second class seat if there is enough space!
Many thanks for this reminder of my memorable trip on the train, over 20 years ago. Switzerland is so well-served by its trains that it makes travel there a total pleasure.
Ответитьohrid bir gün sen de böyle olacaksın
ОтветитьThanks for indicating the name of federal state as well👍
ОтветитьLovely. I would love to go on this train. I don't like reclining seats because the person behind looses room. Greetings from Canada.
ОтветитьNice trip buddy.

ОтветитьTravelled on this train in October from Interlaken to Gstaad in beautiful autumn weather. I had a Bernese Oberland pass courtesy of a tour company I was with. I'd previously reserved a window seat in 2nd. class for the outward and return journeys, and found it perfectly comfortable. and also paid 10 euros for the breakfast box. At Gstaad I took the post bus up to Lauenen, a lovely little village which was largely unchanged from the last time I was there, on a family holiday in 1962. The new gauge-training trains operate certain journeys only I gather. On other services a change at Zweisimmen is needed, as happened 12 years ago when I travelled to Interlaken from Montreux. The older rolling stock has the driver's cab on top of the premium seating area, which means you get an uninterrupted forward, or rearward view. I've visited Switzerland about a dozen times and travelled on most of the scenic railways: Glacier Express, Bernina Express, William Tell Express, the Golden Pass, Jungfraujoch railway,, Brienz-Rothorn, the Rigi Bahn, Schynigge Platte Bahn, Gornergrat Bahn, Rhätische Bahn, and others. I love all your videos, but for myself I'm sticking to Europe as there's still lots of trains to enjoy and countries I want to explore further, e.g. Poland, Sweden, Norway.
ОтветитьI used to love going to Switzerland on holiday, but now with the Franc almost at 1:1 for GBP, it’s just far too expensive a country to visit.
ОтветитьBeautiful, beautiful......livery!
