If you are planning your Shri Amarnath Yatra, and wish to reach Baltal camp then you should reach Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on arrival at Jammu. You may make night stay there.

The local vehicles will help you in reaching there.

You will get dedicated bus (which will be escorted by army/para military forces) for both base camp. Buses start at around 3.30 AM everyday.

Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar has been confirmed as Base Camp at Jammu and all the arrangements are being made to handle yatris's movement smoothly.

There are two Amarnath Yatra routes that pilgrims can take to travel Amarnath Cave and both these routes are well connected from all the major cities for easy connectivity. To start from Srinagar or Pahalgam, one will have to trek to a height of more than 14,000 feet. Hence, being physically fit & mentally prepared for the journey is a must.
