Keep jump/step putting…standardize baskets
Ответитьimo. the teeing area should be the only areas that you are not required to maintain balance behind the lie. Just like a tee in golf.
ОтветитьAny throw that's made with your body in front of your lie is just cheating. It's outside the spirit of the game at a minimum. And you don't need smaller baskets. You need fewer ball golf courses.
ОтветитьThis is stupid. inside the circle feet flat. anywhere else players should be able to use larger muscle groups (legs) and be able to follow through the momentum (step fwd) for injury prevention. If you need to approach in c2 with a fh or bh you still need to be able to follow through and step. Honestly jump putting and step putting should become more lax where release needs to be before feet touch ground past mini marker. that way you can have full power transfer through your jump.
ОтветитьI think just/step putts are stupid, but if you wanna do a step/jump putt that ENDS ON YOUR LIE I'm all for it.
Personally though I just want elevated baskets outlawed. They're a trash substitute for course design and aren't fun for players or spectators.
15m is prolly the new limit. Just make that new c1, and x goes to 15-18ft
ОтветитьAs a non jump putter, I never had a problem with someone jump putting. Step putting is the worst though, Literally putting your self a step closer to the basket and barely releasing the disc before touching the ground. Kristin's jump putts last year were a bit sketchy as well. I think those that jump putted properly, it wasn't an issue, but too many people were trying to stretch the rule and utilize the jump putt as a way to just be as close to the basket as possible. I think just getting rid of it is the safest thing
My question, are we going to need to keep balance after any putt in circle 2 now, or are the rules going to allow walking in after a putt as long as both legs were behind the spot pre release?
Whatever you do with the rules. Please keep them the same for everyone and in every event. I don't care if it's 10m, 15m or 20m. Same distance for everyone every time.
ОтветитьSome of the pro players have had their prime. It is understandable to get of tour if you can’t succeed. And the next gen just keeps getting better.
ОтветитьI don’t see why anyone has anything against jump putts? If we push the standard putting circle to circle 2, just make jump putts legal at that point outside circle 2…
ОтветитьMore players jump or step outside C2 than in it right now. So this rule is changing NOTHING! Faults happen outside C2 just as often, if not more often (by percentage of attempts), than inside C2. So yeah, not a fix, just catering to the crowd of whiners that have never taken the time to learn to putt better outside C1.
ОтветитьI'm cool with the putting change I think with him circle 2 you should be able to leap over your disc kind of make sense. Anything outside of circle too even if it's on the border of circle too I'm okay with. I seen some people that can like crazy speed throw disc but they need that leap the fucking do it and nude fuck up their game and I kind of find that funny lol
ОтветитьStep/jump putts are legal.. The only way to make them illegal is to make all shots including drives the same as a within 10m putt...
ОтветитьFigured it out: create a rule that a TD may (with a waiver from PDGA) set the "putting circle/area" as it sees fit for each hole. This would allow Tour & high-level events to adpot this & challenge their players appropriately, while not forcing any change down the ladder for players & TDs that just don't have any reason to change from what things are now.
ОтветитьThe only people upset by the proposal are those misusing the current allowance.
ОтветитьJump putt needs to go. Step putt is okay as long as the foot behind the marker is still touching the ground before the disc is released.
ОтветитьRaise the entry fees to a number that makes the pros make more money...$300 is a joke for a professional anything. Let sponsors pay the higher entries instead of just handing it over as salary
ОтветитьFINALLY CHANGE THE DAVID FELDBERG RULE!
ОтветитьExcited to see the rule change. Curious if it will hold up or if it will be modified 2026. More people will be spin-putting from range now I would imagine. Ohn Scoggins will clean house next year. 😀
Ответитьrofl, FPO would be a disaster.
ОтветитьThe proposed C2 rule for junp putts would force TD's to mark the C2 line on every hole. That's not going to happen.
ОтветитьI agree with the no step putt rule, people can learn how to putt without stepping over their disc, thats the rule for every other shot you take, so why do people think it's OK when your that close to the basket. Jump putters are a problem
ОтветитьJust remove all jumping. At no point anywhere on the course should your feet be off the ground when throwing a disc. This would prevent people "Stepping" out of a bush jail and throwing 90eg up/down a fairway when they really didn't have the reach without the rear foot having moved from the marker.
(Funny thing is, apart from top players, most I watch attempting jump putts usually throw a worse shot than if they just did a standstill upshot.)
Jump putts are awsome why make the sport more boring
ОтветитьSo this putting rule proposal is for pro's, right? How many ams are really making a lot of 60-foot putts. Let the DGPT make whatever rules they want, but remember that almost all PDGA members are ams.
ОтветитьWhen it comes to rules they should always use the KISS method.
Keep it simple stupid.
Rules should be made for all to be able to play the game. Rules should not be made for players that don’t like the rules.
Just my opinion. To each their own.
Glad I adopted a strong spin putt when i started playing. I always thought it was funny, those players that are desperate to be just outside of c1 just to jump putt. seems like a crutch but w/e
ОтветитьLooking forward to see what Schusterick does with Prodigy.
ОтветитьComplaing about not being able to take time off is hilarious. Try a real job cupcake. Most people in the world are never able to take time off.
ОтветитьIt's only terrible putters that complain about jump putts. Instead of crying get good scrubs.
ОтветитьPeople who don’t step putt can learn how to step putt if they want the same distance advantage.
ОтветитьRule change? Heck, I’m still waiting for the existing rule of time limit to be consistently called and enforced. Maybe I’ve watched too many other professional sports that have time rules (eg NBA 24 second clock) and as a result I have unrealistic expectations that “professional” and “rule violations have actual consequences” should go hand in hand.
ОтветитьI love the proposed rule change! I'm nowhere near a pro and have no problem stand stilling a 65-footer
ОтветитьKeep the rule the way it is or allow step and jump putts from any distance. It’s a putting technique. People use different run up techniques why not allow different putting techniques.
ОтветитьLame rule change. Why not feet instead of meters that would be a better change.
ОтветитьDo you guys see that GK put out an announcement that they're starting their own tour
ОтветитьStep putting from 33ft makes me want to stop watching sport. How about no step putting period.
ОтветитьIt's either this or ban jump and step putts outright.
Ответитьgannon buff
ОтветитьAs a player who stopped jump putting I fully endorse this change.
ОтветитьDumb suggestion from Bjerkaas..
That simply moves illegal putts out to 20+, instead of 10+.
This doesn't solve the problem - and very obviously so.
Also, a 20m circle has a circumference of 125-metres compared to 63-metres. Who's gonna mark out a circle that large? It's bad enough marking out 10m circles for an event!
Why don’t they fix their crappy scoring app instead of deciding to reinvent the wheel on C2 putts?
ОтветитьI can’t imagine the female pros or amateurs being able to get it there from 20 m
ОтветитьI don't think a 20m circle is gonna work at all competitive levels. I think the best options are
1) 15 meters for all PDGA-events
2) 20m for pro MPO, 15m for pro FPO & ama MPO, 10m for ama FPO and age restricted divisions
Good!! Athletes can putt just fine from circle 2 without jumping or stepping. We need this to separate the pros from the Joe's.
ОтветитьIts so hard to stand still putt from 66' or 20 meters. I think this will take a lot of the fun out of the game as putting will now be too hard. I could see the pro tour going to this but all sanctioned events is so dumb to me. Why do they just assume doubling it. What the stats there. Basketball didn't extend the 3point line by a factor of 2. Just seems like a lame excuse to not fix the rule that is in place. like say one foot must stay on the ground at all times or something along those lines.
