my issue with star wars / star trek is their ships are so close to one another. My rouge trader ship can fire at several AU (or vu i forget which is the smaller one) which just makes me feel that any star wars ship or star trek ship would be murdered just due to range. Basically that last jedi thing could of never happened in 40k.
ОтветитьAll I need is a movie that is solely based around Fleet battles.... hopefully the Rogue Squadron series will do that...
ОтветитьWhat I gained from this video:
The First Order is comprised of a bunch of idiots
Capping the T
Actual Naval commanders:
Hey I've seen this one!
Hey, I’m working on a project, how could I contact you for assistance and or guest staring in a video?
ОтветитьAhh perfect for my eaw conquest
ОтветитьWe need a empire at war remake
ОтветитьEven though these battles are shown poorly in the films, you must admit, they were pretty cool to watch
ОтветитьLike
Ответитьi know this video is old but i just wanted to say. in EAW i use Thrawn's pincer alot, and to simulate it, i use the interdicter in the scout slot, so its always the first ship into battle. but if im facing a superstar destroyer with a fleet of destroyer, cruisers, and frigates i tend lean towards using a lot fighters and bombers. there's also another strategy i use when defending a planet, when all my ships are out i position them in a line with big ships in front, and smaller ships taking up the rear, medium ships that can do a lot of damage, i sit them in the middle, then i make the ship hold their positions while the enemy approaches, then i just watch my ships slaughter them one at a time, lol, managing them when needed. if i have a hyper velocity gun on the planet im defending, i will use it on the biggest threats. like SSD's, dreadnoughts, battlecruisers, etc.
Ответитьbiggest lag in SW is the missing of the 3D acting it seems like always the ships fight on the same horizont, imagin how vulnabre the most ships are on the underside in SW
ОтветитьYo dude can you add this to you tactics/strategies playlist you have on your second channel please is very valuable information for EAW imho.
ОтветитьThe Ackbar Slash sounds like Nelson's cutting of the line at Trafalgar.
ОтветитьThr akbhar slash is exactly the same as the british navy’s actions at the battle of trafalgar against the spanish navy
ОтветитьDon't forget that you can basically throw all of this out since Disney pulled hyperspace ramming out of their ass. Just equip a handful of proton torpedoes with hyperdrives and WHAM-O. Hahahaha what a joke.
Hey man this was a great video. Space battles are my favorite element of Star Wars. Anyone who feels the same way will find a treasure trove in the X-Wing books from the EU. Those are my favorite SW books
We all know the best tactic is to ram all ships into enemy ships
ОтветитьHow did you make the thumbnail?
ОтветитьAs a fan of capital ships-I LOVED this video!
ОтветитьFunny that the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook decided to attribute the simple tactic of breaking a line to Admiral Ackbar, a leader known for his brilliance, when it is both undoubtedly ancient and not well suited for the Rebellion at all. And I can't imagine a space combat scenario when capping the T would be a viable tactic at all. The sourcebook authors just ported battleship era naval tactics straight into Star Wars without taking into account the prevalence and power of fighters in the SW universe. Treating space as 2D plane is tolerable, since that's almost ubiquitous in scifi, but the existence of fighters carrying capital ship killing weaponry should mean that large ships primarily act as carriers.
ОтветитьSooo, the ackbar slash is just crossing the T?
ОтветитьOK eckhartsladder, what do you think of a series where there is certain situations that are made up by your audience and you have certain ships to do a certain thing that the viewer specifies. Like trying to break a blockade with very little big ships you can use.
ОтветитьSome of the ships/ fighters vs Star Wars!
ОтветитьWatching this to see if I can improve in Empire at War.
ОтветитьI wonder why didn't capital ships use missiles against other capital ships , a stong yet persice hit could've been deadly to any ship.
ОтветитьI just wish they could make an RTS game out of it.
ОтветитьIf it was rebel combat it would be
Send one dude in a X Wing to take down the fucking Sun
ackbar slash is basically Tralfagar with the British bold column move against the French navy that Lord Nelson used.
A lot of these ship battles can reflect actual real life naval warfare at sea.
This always annoys me about either legends or canon fleet combat or just star destroyer cpmbat. The basic principle of naval combat in the age of sail into wwi and ii in soem aspect, is what's called crossing the T. Basically, its presenting your ship's weapons batteries in 2 maneuvers. Head straight out then make a 90 degree turn. Allowing for all forward then broadside batteries to fire. Its also rudimentary. That said, imp i and ii star destroyers have those octuple barbette turbolaser batteries on either side. Which mwans forward firong arc is strongest? Wrong. The strongest attack is actually from below. Meaning a star destrpyer can best hit a ship above them with EVERY BATTERY. so, why are there no 3 dimensional combat maneuver tactics? Literally a star destroy should be present its dorsal, ie roof or top, side by rotating on it's roll in ariel terms or on its x axis. Thus presenting all of its batteries and doing so while utilize the weapons entire arc of fire.
ОтветитьBreachers! Spheres! Electrostatic shields vs Republic shields
Ответитьwhat does he use to show us visibly the fleet layout.... As in like how does he get a map and place down the ships and stuff so that we see it visibly
ОтветитьGreat, now I know how to effectively use my Bellator.
ОтветитьYou could use these Tactics in Empire at War and its mods
ОтветитьTop Hat Society ( The Void Empire ) and the United Universes engineering Two of the largest fleets to fight against each other.
Especially, Two 1000km long, 600km wide, and 200km tall Super Star Dreadnoughts to fight each other, The Liberator-Class Super Star Defender, and the Eliminator-Class Super Star Dreadnought.
what program do you use for the thumbnails
ОтветитьThese are basically just Age of Sail tactics
MFW Ackbar uses Nelsonian tactics from battle of Trafalgar
Who else gon use this for Empire at War?
ОтветитьNelson used the Akbar Slash at Trafalgar
ОтветитьThe Akbar slash would be a terrible tactic. You're willingly leading your fleet into a crossed T scenario, the dream of all admirals. The front ship in the formation would get annihilated by the concentrated fire of the opposing fleet, and then next ship in turn
ОтветитьSo...if ship turbolasers have the reach to hit and damage structures on the ground, why don't planets in star wars have similar sized or larger turbolasers around important facilities to fire back at a fleet come in close to bombard? Why the need for some big, huge cannon like on Hoth when a standard sized weapon would do?
ОтветитьI love aircraft fighting ok battlefront 2 I use the interceptor
ОтветитьThe knowledge in this video will totally help us out when we all get magically transported to the Star Wars universe……Yep,any day now.
ОтветитьThey should make a game where you are an Imperial naval officer learning to operate the ship. Sort of like Empire at War/Battlefleed Gothic but much more in depth, and you can be operating just one subsystem of one ship like being the navigation officer for example.
ОтветитьPretty sure Lord Nelson was a student of Akbar and made use of the slash at Trafalgar.
ОтветитьThe akbar slash is bassed on an actual naval strategy used in the battle of Trafalgar
Ответить“Consider bringing along…” bro I don’t think I’ll manage a Star Wars fleet ever lol
Ответить
