I remember watching this show with my mother when I was a child. This was always my favourite part🤗

Fantastic opener, great music; and so much characterization without any words

I love this song

There are people who listen to music and people who listen to words thinking they are listening to music. The former appreciate the intelligent craftsmanship of Jeff Beal the later like the dumbed down Hackneyed and cliched eminently forgettable clownish musical abortion written by Newman.

I'm so torn I love both intros. I started watching Monk years ago with my gf now wife and finally got around to finishing it today. I got so use to Jungle out there (which we sing along to) that I forgot about this one. They should have had Jungle out there at the start and this as the end credits song.

When I hear this song I always think of Spongebob

Until today I can't understand why they changed the theme. I never skipped this intro, but I always skipped the secound one.

I much prefer the original theme music over the Randy Newman song a gazillion times more

This is much better than that stupid Randy Newman song.

This opening is just magnificent. It’s subtle, bright, doesn’t shove Monk’s fear and disgust in your face or poke fun at him. He’s just a regular guy with some quirks. Plus, it tells you where the show takes place, what the main character’s job used to be, and that he used to be married.

He never locks the door, goof by the writers.

Monk is one of the few examples of where I prefer the makeover("It's A Jungle Out There") over this Mister Rogersy original.

Very sad to find that on Peacock, they've replaced this theme with the Randy Newman song for every episode. This was a great tune, very Django Reinhardt, and much more subtle and tasteful

I make up lyrics to go with it which at least for me turns it into a great worship song!😊

Why do Netflix and Peacock use the Randy Newman theme song for the first season? It completely ruins the joke Sarah Silverman makes about them changing it.

Why on earth did they give up this opening and closing title for the rest of the series?? 😪 This one was perfect!

It’s really funny and ironic that in one of the second season’s episodes, a character talks about how much she hates it when a TV show changes its intro.

I barely watch TV and hadn't heard of Monk until my friend was watching it on Netflix just last month. I now find I'm watching the show because of this theme song. Otherwise, I view Monk as a sort of quirky Columbo.

Honestly I like this intro as much as “It’s A Jungle Out There”. It’s short and it has a nice ring to it. I love how it doesn’t show all of Monk’s fears

Definitivamente, uma excelente série

there's a few things that bother me with this intro. the show is about a guy with a mental condition that makes it so he struggles with change and has a tendency to endlessly repeat himself. but the theme song, this one that depicts everything about monk so well without prejudice against his shortcomings, gets changed suddenly. it would've been much better if they kept this intro but slowly change things throughout the seasons showing that although he still has the same core components, overtime he's changing and evolving to overcome his short comings

also the umbrella's are the wrong way, how did that happen in the first place? let alone monk almost missing it on his way out?
