Marina Del Rey, meaning "Marina of the King" in Spanish, is a vibrant coastal community known for its picturesque marina, one of the largest man-made small-craft harbors in the world. Before its development as a small-craft harbor, the land occupied by Marina Del Rey was a salt marsh fed by fresh water from Ballona Creek. Today, the area boasts a mix of luxury apartments, condominiums, and hotels offering stunning sea views and direct access to the marina. Residents and visitors enjoy an array of water activities such as sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The marina is surrounded by charming restaurants, shops, and recreational areas, making it a prime location for relaxation and entertainment.

Fisherman’s village:
Fisherman's Village in Marina Del Rey is a charming waterfront mall and commercial boat anchorage. The parking lot at Fisherman's Village offers convenient parking ranging from $2 to $8 for a full day, making it easy for visitors to enjoy the village's restaurants, shops, and recreational activities. The area features colorful buildings on the water's edge, consisting of five brightly painted wooden structures, a waterfront promenade, and a lighthouse. This lively area offers a picturesque setting with vibrant hues of red, blue, and yellow adorning the buildings. Visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions, including an escape room, a few shops, and a couple of restaurants. The area also offers bicycle rentals, allowing guests to explore the marina and surrounding paths. Various types of ocean-going vessels, including fishing boats, pass Fisherman's Village as they depart for or return from voyages.

Burton W. Chace Park:
Burton W. Chace Park first opened in 1972 and was named in honor of Burton W. Chace, known as the Father of the Marina and a long-time Los Angeles County Supervisor. This park is a lush, green oasis offering picturesque views of the harbor. It features large, mature trees that provide shade and is home to playful squirrels that delight visitors. Various structures around the park include picnic areas and seating, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. There is also a designated barbecue area, making it a popular spot for gatherings and outdoor meals. The park's scenic walking paths and open spaces offer a peaceful escape for residents and visitors alike.

Boat docks:
Marina Del Rey is known for its extensive boat docks that house a wide variety of vessels, including sailboats, yachts, fishing boats, and smaller watercraft. The marina accommodates over 5,000 boats, providing convenient access to the Pacific Ocean for boating enthusiasts. The area is also popular with sea lions, which can be found lounging on the docks and nearby structures. The sea lions are attracted to the marina for its calm waters, abundant fish supply, and warm sunbathing spots, making it an ideal resting place for them.

Marina Del Rey Beach:
Marina Del Rey Beach is a beautiful coastal destination that offers sandy shores and a range of recreational activities. The sea in Marina Del Rey is a central part of the area's charm, offering expansive views and numerous opportunities for water-based activities. Moreover, the calming sound of the waves and the refreshing sea breeze contribute to the overall relaxing atmosphere. The beach also features volleyball courts, perfect for sports enthusiasts to enjoy a game in the sun. On the side of the beach, there are attractive homes offering stunning views of the water. The area is also known for its protected sand dunes, which are preserved due to their ecological significance. These dunes provide a habitat for native plants and wildlife, including various bird species, and act as natural barriers against coastal erosion. At the end of the beach, Marina Del Rey Pier is a popular spot for fishing, sightseeing, and taking in the sunset views.
