man you have no idea since I arrived to the United states 20 years ago only two times I get the right Basmati rice . since then . the Grocery store . is been full of these brands with Basmati rice written on them. and every time after cooking from the first ten minutes I knew this is bad Rice. that Aroma smell not there the color Yellowish kind of color and taste. ZERO I spent a lot of money that ended up in the trash seriously . I live in Up state New York the rice market is very poor and because the Americans aren't Rice eaters make fake Rice in the Market easy sell . so thank you very much at least I will try this time with confidence

I haven't try the Daawat but since I have try the India gate 3 years ago, I have never bought any other basmati rice.

I don't know of these brands, but I only ever buy aged basmati. My trusted brand is No. 817 Elephant brand.

The more aged the rice is the more flavourful it is.

These hybrid strains arent even proper basmati....they prioritise grain length and yield at the expense of fragrance and flavour. They werent even classed as basmati until 2008 only after intense lobbying by farmers who loved that they could make more money from growing this and couldnt care less about the consumer getting a substandard flavoured product. May as well just by standard long grain or better still thai jasmine rice

you should do it with open method, your method is wrong..... We can use machine with cheap quality rice for everyday use , for aroma and expensive rice we should go with open method.... Not close method.... Love from India🙏

I purchased Daawat Traditional today $15.95 10 lbs. Only because they no longer carry Tilda. Tilda it 100 times better than Daawat. No one here has Indian gate. Next time I'm going to find chiniguri or Kalijeera, which cooks in 8 minutes. They call it mini basmati.
