That was a fun video. However, am curious if you did or did not remove exhaust and drain any water?? If not why not?
ОтветитьNice! I have its twin in LHD. Good job brining it back to life. Didyou have to swap over the ECU from the donor motor or?
ОтветитьFar better to swap out than rebuild
ОтветитьGood job well done 👍😍👍is possible the water might get in the gearbox 🤔and how much this job would normally cost please 😊
ОтветитьGreat video….could the old engine have any hope with a lot of tlc, or is it just scrap?
ОтветитьThe location of the airboxes is really interesting as the previous version X100 XK the air intake is above the 4,2 engine. The 5.0 version looks like a step backwards.
I'm curious about the plastic film you placed on the wings to protect them. Where do you get that from ?
Well , at least now they can get at the duck bill
ОтветитьWhat happens to the old engine, will it be reconditioned or broken down?
Ответитьsuper sharp Jaguar.
ОтветитьFab
ОтветитьThe engine is made up of many ford derived parts
ОтветитьGorgeous blue! Love it!
ОтветитьEnjoyed it, especially that all is done in one video and all is shown. Also agree with other comments that an older type engine is not the best for the cars value.
ОтветитьRefreshing to watch a channel that shows start to finish work, really enjoyed it. New subscriber here😁👍🏻
ОтветитьAmazing but...why go to ALL that trouble to replace it with a 2009-2011 engine? Those are prone to timing chain failures. I would've gotten the newest engine possible (14-15). Labor and Parts this was How much? $12K USD? Probably more?
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I had the same issue with my 2013 XK DHC. Stalled in 6" of water - hydro locked. My insurance paid for a replacement engine!
BTW, the air filters are accessed through the wheel arch liners, which just pop out after releasing a few bolts. Turning the wheel helps with access.
The XK has a towing eye underneath the rear bumper - it's a rectangular plate on the sub-frame and you just pass the tow line back through and over a lip to lock it in place. No need to open the boot.
Impressive for a non mechanic like me. Impressed that it could be salvaged. So not true then that a flooded engine equals car written off? Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThe boxes are low , but the intake is high , so how is it pulling in water from low down ? Doesn’t seem possible ? The filters looked crispy dry and dusty , not wet
ОтветитьFlood Damaged is an understatement. That car was used as a Submarine! Who ever owned it must have thought it was a Jeep 4 Wheeler!
ОтветитьNice job. Just to point out, it is not a Ford engine but a Jaguar designed and manufactured although some of the smaller bits are Ford as they owned Jaguar at that time
ОтветитьGreat vid - love that classic range rover in the background ❤️
ОтветитьGreat work , very organised, nice wok shop.
ОтветитьGreat Vid
ОтветитьWhy so smokey though? White smoke = water, so maybe wet cats? Either that or something wrong with donor engine.
ОтветитьGood work super Ron! Poor golf being smoked out in behind it!
