That would be something good to do with a scrap oak plank I have laying around, but first I would need to search how to make or get the router place for it. Great upload!
ОтветитьBeautiful project!
ОтветитьVery nice design
Ответитьwe used to use an old Allen key ! wrench to make the cutters
ОтветитьIt only a matter of time before you forge your own blades ;) Come the Zombie Apocalypse I'm heading to your place 😜
Ответитьyeszaaa...finally..two greatest maker collaborate in one project
ОтветитьSo long in coming...at age 68...I cut my first dovetails yesterday...chisels & pull saw...have yet to fit...oh my
ОтветитьWhen I made my router plane fot the blade iron, I used an Allen key (not sure what you call them over there!?) it had the perfect angle, and being hardened steel, it holds the edge really well, I don't have to sharpen it that often
ОтветитьGreat video
Ill add this one to my routerplane playlist too.
Nice work James!
ОтветитьI really need a router plane, I feel like it'll help my next steps toward more accurate joints. Good video, I look forward to the next one! - Clint
ОтветитьYou told me in Atlanta that this was coming out. Nice job James, looks really nice. Scott
Ответитьreal nice will be goin to the sawmill see if I can get some cherry an try makin a router plane my self
ОтветитьNicely done James!
ОтветитьSorry to spoil your joke James, Paul Sellers coined the phrase cordless router a Looong time ago :( . I just decided, If I don't win, I will make your pattern router.. Using large Hex key as the blade. BTW, I noticed your Hi Tech watch... In the spirit of hand tools, basic tools shouldn't you be wearing something a bit more appropriate like a Sun dial .. (In silly mood today) ;0
ОтветитьGlorious design friend! Good point of the angle of pushing
Ответитьthe shape reminds me of a Preston router plane. Which I would like to make. GREAT VIDEO as always. I always learn quite a bit here.
ОтветитьNice work James!
ОтветитьRouter plane really is a great asset in the workshop. Love how the carving came out.
ОтветитьVery nice job James. You make the carving look easy. I'm going to try it one day. Enjoy the videos. God bless.
ОтветитьGreat video Thanks for the share, also watched router plane irons very good to nice to see all you people keeping all these hand tool trades going on all the best for the future.
Ответитьthose turned out beautiful James.
ОтветитьNice...
ОтветитьExcellent...
Cheers...
Hi I noticed you using the "whisk" hand drill with an anticlockwise turning, I always use a clockwise turning as that is the way the drills are cut and I find it more productive. Am I wrong or are you using it that way for some other reason that I have missed.
ОтветитьThey look great! :D
ОтветитьNice work, James! Those look awesome.
ОтветитьVery nice work man!
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьThat is some fine looking work James!
ОтветитьОбалдеть, какие у него инструменты!!!
ОтветитьDamn it, 21k subscribers... Story of my life....
I subscribed anyways, great videos!
This is awesome. Coming from a long line of woodworkers, I find it a joy to rediscover the old ways and methods. Thank you for your videos and sharing your passion for "cordless" woodworking!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing. Looks like a fun useful tool. I like the idea of using a right angle hex key for a blade.
Ответитьvery nice. can be usefull in the shop
ОтветитьHey my brother it looks like something I have awesome bro :)
ОтветитьIs a double-W = a Quadra-U?
shower thoughts
I like those! I made my cutter out of an Allen wrench.
Ответитьwhere can i find chisels with that cherry logos? or what is it called?
ОтветитьAbout how thick is the cherry you used for the base?
ОтветитьJAMES are the expensive "Two Cherries" chisels really worth the difference in price than the aldi chisels? Just wondering, I have Irvin marples, and always wondered just how much difference between the lower budget chisels and the higher end ones ?
ОтветитьDo you have a video of attaching the blades and using these bad boys? I'm a rookie and I can't visualize how it's going to work.
ОтветитьSo I’m guessing 3 years later I missed the giveaway, huh?
ОтветитьIs there a video where you show how to make the bench hook you have?
Ответитьthank you James how thick is the wood ?
ОтветитьIs there a second part where you show metal fitting and how does it actually work?
ОтветитьAre those hold fasts from Alaska?
ОтветитьYou got that “cordless router” line from Paul Sellers.
