Good analysis boys. Hurzeler's tactics are certainly open to question. He hasn't got the defenders available to implement the system he wants

Don’t worry lads. Chelsea are similar to Brighton in the sense of we both struggle against low blocks but like teams who come to play. Brighton are quality I’m sure the attacking style of Hurzeler will blitz most teams in the league.

Outplayed us simple as that. But defending was absolutely awful though. Still some positives to take from it

Get a grip. We could have easily have been two up and it would have been a totally different game. There defence was crap. Pedro would have loved it out there. How many chances did we miss in the first half. There is no chance of us spending money in the window. We go with what we have. Again look at the chances Palmer missed. One goal was a pen and one was an open goal I could have scored. I can't believe the hype. He is good, but not that good. He is not a world class striker, lol. UTA.

Tbh, our high line tactics were already a problem even before chelsea's game. They got through us way too easily. Hurzuler really need to change or innovate his high line tactic if he want to keep it. Btw, its not just Webster and Dunk, Estupinan has not been good too since his last injured too.

Sorry to keep on, but the result wasnt that bad. Scoring two goals away from home and only loosing by two goals at an inform Chelsea is not a disaster. The performance at times was the problem not the result. Finally lets remember could have or would have doesn't count. Palmer and the rest missed their chances because they were not good enough to finish them off. Luck and the bounce of the ball always comes in to it, but it wasn't a thrashing and we had a really patched up defence. Chins up, BHAFC.

I am a Man City fan from NY. Why on earth is Enciso not getting starts while Joao Pedro is injured? I feel like Enciso at #10 & Pedro at #9 would be the best fit to work them both in. Or maybe Enciso at right midfield. Do you think Enciso will make it back into the starting 11?

Chill guys, we were a 1000 times worse at Villa and Luton last season, and on this occasion we had a couple of injuries thrown at us late. I actually watch this to the end and I certainly didn’t in those two games

The problem we have is that at the end of last season we were crying out for some defensive strengthening and for all our summer additions only 1 was a defender, and better suited to left back where we are ok anyway. We can't neglect the defence which was our achilles heel last season and has continued into this.

i think this lost felt different because it came down to a core value that the manager is trying to install (the high line) personally i think you just need to assess it for each game + during it and see when and where it’s going to be viable, baleba and georginio were class, i guess wait and see how the next game goes, needed the pod after that one to ease my concern UTA

Chelsea fan here, no team outside of the top 6 is going to have a chance against us if they play attacking football. You guys were able to weather the storm the best I’ve seen yet this season in terms of attacking teams and even scored twice. Brighton seem to be going somewhere this season and could easily qualify for Europe. Good luck for the rest of the season!

Also you can’t forget the brilliant block Webster made for Jackson’s shot

Webster was bad but also directly prevented atleast 1 possibly 2 goals. Let's not slate him. It's the managers fault. He needs to figure this out.

I was at the match(chelsea supporter). Brighton started well but as soon as we saw the high line, I knew we would break in 2s and 3s. We did that against West Ham. Your manager is brilliant but was hoping we would stop. With our manager, we don't....

Highline without the frontlines pressing as a unit, and anticipating first time balls, killed us. Yes line was very high, yes CBs were not the fastest but, more times than not the trap worked. So pressing as a unit and understanding teams counter to our system will be key in making us tick. Then just clinical decision-making needed in the final 3rd to increase attack-to-conversion rates. But future still looking bright for the seasiders.

Chelsea dominated Brighton.
Yes Palmer was amazing but also Sancho and others were cooking Brighton's defence as well as Enzo's passes made a difference.

If Chelsea had Diogo Costa as gk and Osimhen up front the game would have ended 6-0 or something.

What worries me about Hurzeler is what annoyed me with RDZ: lacking the ability to adjust or the humility admit how you want to play isn't going to always be the way to victory. we dropped 4 points the 2 games prior. we lost our fastest CB, and we set up with a highline a single 6 and 2 8s. A full out attacking set up. chelsea have the ball skills all over the pitch to beat a high press. Chelsea would beat the press with bopth Jack and Baleba engaged in the press, break through the midfield which at that point is just Wieffer and then be free in with all attackers matched 1v1 vs the defenders

@aespactzen880

Apart from the high line, I also don't like those risky short passes at the back. I know we want to build up from the back and this is how we play, but I just think that we are being too extreme at times, perhaps this is the legacy of RDZ. There are many circumstances where we are under so much pressure, but we still insist on playing those risky short passes at the back which lead to errors and direct shooting chance eventually. Like in the second half of Chelsea game, we were pressed really tight, but Verbruggen still played a ball to Wieffer who was pressed really tight by Caiceido. And eventually, Caiceido caught the ball and passed to Palmer, we were very lucky that Palmer didn't score that time. This is just one of the many examples of us being too stubborn and extreme. I just hope that we can be more flexible because we will become very predictable if we play with the same tactic over and over again.

Another thing is that our counter pressing is so poor. Whenever there is a turnover in possession, we don't seem to have any intention to win the ball back as quickly as possible, which then lead to quick counter attack against us. We are so vulnerable with that. Rather than saying high line that causes the problem, I would say our counter pressing is a much bigger issue for us at the moment.

Unfortunately we will be in more danger of relegation than top six if we keep playing like this. I dont think tnhere is a team in all the leagues that gives the ball away more than us.and we have to poor goalkeepers which does not help.we need to do more basic things more often to inprove and lets hope the new manager is not to stuborn to do this other wise we are go in to get cooked by many teams
