Please let me know if you have any more questions about Washington State laws. I will answer any that I can :)
ОтветитьGreat video! ❤️
ОтветитьI love how in depth you made this and how you mentioned the subjects required to be taught! Sometimes people think they can just start homeschooling and don't know they're required to teach certain subjects.
ОтветитьI always liked the fact that we didn't need to turn in a letter of intent to homeschool until our kids turned 8. I spoke at the WHO homeschool conference every year for a decade, and they are definitely a good resource.
ОтветитьI am currently an HSLDA member! This is very informative, I am an aspiring homeschooling mama ❤️ thank you for sharing!! 💕
ОтветитьIt is really interesting to hear what the laws and regulations for homeschooling are in a different country, although many of them were very similar to Canadian laws 🤷🏼♀️ and thanks to remind me to check them again 😊
Ответить... You have to be qualified, do a course etc to educate your own children !?
I'm in Australia, thankfully that is not "a thing" over here.
Thanks!
ОтветитьThis was such a helpful video thank you! Question… My 6 year old did kindergarten in a private school - because of this do I need to send in my letter of intent to the public school system before he’s 8?
ОтветитьQuestion: I started my son homeschooling a year early so he will be age 6 and 7 in January for 2nd grade. I am wondering for the standardized testing when does he need to begin being tested?
ОтветитьWhat about online School like Abeka? I’m in Washington state and wondering if I can use an online school since I don’t have any college courses myself
ОтветитьHello :) so basically, before submitting an intent to homeschool, I’m good to go if I am almost done with community college? (Meaning I have lots of credits & they don’t have to be specific to teaching degrees?) I won’t need to find someone from the school district to watch over us, and I don’t have to take the homeschooling course? I’m good to go as is?
ОтветитьThe certified parent can conduct the assessment tests?
ОтветитьAre we entitled to a copy of our students transcripts (Do they do transcripts in 3rd grade?) at their schools? Or keeping report card and IEP records good enough?
ОтветитьHow about if the parent went to a foreign high school and college?
ОтветитьMy Husband went to 3 plus years of tech school for his construction career. Do you think that would qualify for "college "credits? Thank you
ОтветитьHi, there. What version or method of end of year testing do you use? I ordered testing from a company and that testing was done at home. My dd is entering 7 grade so I'd like to change it up
ОтветитьWashington’s laws are GARBAGE, I’m looking into Abeka, I was hoping for something easier and more simple for them so they could only do a couple hours a day and not still
Be home in school for 8 hours. Public school doesn’t teach kids anything , just how to be a slave
Thank you for this video! I am starting homeschool for the first time this year and just looking to find out more about record keeping. Do we need to create report cards/transcripts for the records? If so, how do I go about creating this?
ОтветитьMy daughter is in 8th grade and has been in public school her entire life. I need to withdraw her very soon, the environment is not ideal. I reside in king county kent. I am a sahm the past year, so this homeschooling is new to me. In your opinion what is the best home school curriculum for our situation? I was looking into private online Christian school ( ignite academy) or at home curriculum like monarch, Abeka…
Very overwhelming of the many option with the combined lack of experience on my part. Thanks
My husband is getting stationed in WA in the spring. We are coming from a very low regulated state, TX. My son turns 8 a month before we move to WA. From my understanding, that means I would submit the DOI right after moving to WA, and then again before 9/15? Just asking for clarification..thank you for the video!
ОтветитьThank Youuuuu!
ОтветитьMy child turns 8 after September 15. Will I still need to file intent?
ОтветитьI pulled my daughter out of public school 3 weeks ago and started homeschooling. Unfortunately, I don’t have a high school diploma but am going to school for my diploma. My daughter is 7 but will be 8 in July. Is it still possible for me to teach her as I’m still getting my diploma the same time?
ОтветитьThank you for this video! I appreciate You mentioning to get a copy stamped signed declaration of intent to homeschool. I plan to do this this year. 💜💖
ОтветитьI am also in Washington. We have our first year of testing this summer. Everyone I've talked to says we can use CAT testing. Have you used this before? Is it valid here? If you have used something else what do you recommend?
ОтветитьCORRECTION: We are not required to homeschool 180 days in WA. Just 1000 hours, however you do that.
